gun fight is gunny
You make zero sense. No one has stepped up but the ones that have…?
There are plenty that have opposed his views providing their own evidence. If you want to sound neutral, give those a read as well.
In the end, Dr. Lott is so biased that anything he writes is skewed. Use someone else if you want to make your point. He’s even a Fox News contributor lol. Give it a break.
Axel, its hard for us to comprehend up here.

Dr Lott makes it sound like there is more violent crime in the UK, Australia, and Canada than the US! What a joke. You don’t need to go far to find his twisted statistics. I love his use of the term “bad guys”…lol a very scholarly look at the problem of violent crime.
Anyone ever walk in Canada, Australia or the UK anywhere and even think, ever, about seeing a gun? Toronto has a fraction of the murders of the so-called safest city in the world in Texas, and it’s about 4 times the population. We did get one freaky crossbow murder in a library a few years ago, though…
To me, truth of the matter is there are so many guns in the US it really doesn’t matter what laws they enact. The damage was done 50-100 million gun sales ago. Transplant any one of those yahoo gun advocates in the UK, Canada or Australia and could they honestly say they feel unsafe because they can’t carry? It’s a total joke.
Holy crap! Is this guy on drugs or something???
Homicide rate (per hundred thousand)
UK (2000): 1.4
Canada (2011): 1.73
USA (2010): 4.8
For Canada: There were 2,452,787 crimes reported in 2006; 48% were property related crimes and 12.6% were violent crimes. At a rate of 7,518 reported incidents per 100,000 people, the crime rate in 2006, the latest year for which there is statistics, was the lowest crime rate in twenty-five years. The crime rate has been in general decline since 1991.
One-third of the 2007 murders were stabbings and another third were by firearm.
For USA: In 2009, according to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, 66.9% of all homicides in the United States were perpetrated using a firearm.
For all of Canada: In 2007, there were 190 stabbings and 188 shootings.
For all of the USA: In 2010, there were 19,392 firearm-related suicide deaths, and 11,078 firearm-related homicide deaths in the United States.
So, Canada has 188 shooting deaths, the USA has 11,078. For a country that has over 8 times the population, they have 59 times the number of homicides involving a firearm.
Where does this Dr. Lott get his statistics??? LOL. Does he just pull random numbers out of his ass???
Whether you guys want to admit it or not gun control internationally has shown to be failures time and time again. Yes, crime rate has soared in the UK since they banned handguns. That is a statistical fact. The stats mentioned in the article posted are correct, probably something you guys don’t want to accept. Dr. Lott is talking of trends over time not comparing the current rates between countries.
When people get DUIs do we blame the beer for the person driving drunk? “Yeah we need more alcohol and vehicle restrictions to stop this madness!!”…Never do you hear that, instead it’s stiffer fines for the driver… often we hear advocates calling for the dilution and ultimately the termination of our rights granted through the constitution…just doesn’t make any sense. All you guys continue to do is call for laws that strip the law abiding citizen of their rights…not good…
I’ll believe your so-called facts once you point me to them. And I’m not talking about guys like Dr. Lott interpreting them for his own biased agenda. Show me how fire-arm related homicides have sky rocketed in the uk, australia and canada, post gun control and I’ll begin reconsidering things. That said, gun control in the US would be useless. They’ve passed the point of no return in terms of number of guns long ago.
Lol. Jax vs. ? I can’t remember the white guy’s name.
