Is it similar to drag times?

I just checked side by side and they differed by 200.

Both said “Windsor”

So wtf…

Do you have to input the dragstrip in that app or does it do it by gps location? or it could do something stupid like give you the reading from the nearest airport…I had an app that did that and it was pointless.

I have a AP on my iphone that matches my weather station and dragtimes fairly closely, closer than 200 feet that’s for sure… It uses satelite for your location…

“DA of 150ft ±~ 200ft”

Prime, what’s the app?

The TRC app appears to use location. TRC appears to use real time. Where dragtimes appears to use a “last updated” method.

to be honest, 200 feet isn’t enough to make you notice.

a bit of sun warming the track for grip will make more differnece than 200 feet of density will. 1000 feet you will notice. But if joe runs 11.89 @ 500 feet, and Sally runs 11.51 at 300 feet, don’t point to DA as the delta. Something else is different.

So either one is fine.

We’re trying to see if someone is at -1000 feet vs. 0 feet vs. +1000 etc… But 100-200 is nothing.

I think dragtimes uses aviation data sources to compute DA. Commonly done to help with take off data etc.

In any event the gps locator seems to be off. This app is giving me DA readings from random towns within a 5-10 mile radius but not exact place or town where I’m located. Haven’t tried the timers, YET…

FWIW, Android since 2011 and iphones since iPhone 6 actually have built-in barometers. There are a bunch of a free apps that will make a nice barometer chart etc for you.

Not exactly everything you need but if you were wondering how accurate the dragtimes or weather app baro was, at least you’d have something to check baro against.

Interesting site
