Interesting. This contradicts an earlier report that the B9 RS5 would get the TT V8. Little disappointed they are dropping the V8, assuming this new report is correct.

I think it’s kind of funny how people are going crazy for the twin turbo V6 (that doesn’t actually exist…this article is a guess from a journalist in Britain)
Lots of former B5 guys saying this will bring them back to the S4 (assuming the S4 gets a tuned down versoin of this engine with smaller turbos). I don’t get it.
What’s wrong with the 3.0T supercharged? How about the 4.2 FSI for that matter?
People will say ‘the turbo is much more tunable’.
Let’s see…
stage II B5 S4 = high 12s, low 13s (unless you run race gas and enough boost to kill the turbos which can get you mid to low 12s, but you will literally destroy the turbos and need an engine pull)
stage II B8 S4 = low 12s on pump gas. Supercharger dominates the turbos.
tune/exhaust B7 RS4 = low 12s on pump gas. All motor even dominates the small stock B5 turbos.
So you say ‘yeah but I will just go big turbo’
Great! The B8 S4 and the B7 RS4 will just go big supercharger. We have a B7 RS4 that ran 11.4 @ 125. On pump gas. Fastest B5/6/7/8 Audi ever on pump gas. APR is about to launch a new 1.7 litre supercharger for the B8 S4 that will surely move it forward .
It’s pretty funny to watch people trip over themselves.

Although the new turbos on the 4.0 V8 cars aer pretty amazing. Of course spooling with 4 litres of displacement is a lot easier than with a 2.7T or a 1.6 honda motor.
hopefully the turbo spools fast on the 2.5L… I’ll let you know in about two weeks ;D
^^^shoudl be pretty solid. I think there’s some upside with it, but I don’t think it’s monstrous.
When you think about it, the turbo is getting filled by 2.5 litres and 5 cylinders inline. It’s a great recipe.
Ttrs with dsg is a very quick car
Only manual in the US… I wouldn’t have purchased if it was a DSG… I want another manual toy car as I miss rowing gears since my S4 is DSG… Couple vids of manual ones going 11.3x at 122-125…
I would be disappoint if the new RS5 does not have a V8. Just seems to work for that car. If it is a V6, I like Auditude’s idea of buying the 4.2 RS5 when it comes down in price and adding APR’s supercharger.
Oh yeah I totally forgot about that TVS1740 or whatever it is. That’s going to be damn interesting

p.s. I love the new RS5. I just wish they would bring the B8 RS5 SPORTBACK over here. Four door goodness. I am in no way unhappy with my RS4, and plan to own it for a long time, but I would REALLY like to see another sporty 4 door AWD V8 powered fun sized car available over here.
The 4.0T cars are all monsters.
The 3.0T cars (S4/S5) are nice sized but I really like the 4.2 FSI experience.
The RS5 is epic to look at and a great performer, but I like 4 doors for vairous reasons (easy to get the dog in, easy to take friends/clients in/not so showy)
RS5 sportback: HELP US…YOU’RE MY ONLY HOPE
I read that Audi is not bringing the RS4 to NA because they plan to bring the RS5 Sportback. Let’s see if that happens.
Last I heard was that we’re likely to have more info on the supercharger during Waterfest in July. APR, I believe, is one of the sponsors and usually has a sale on their products at that time.
And there are several RS5s in my area - seen a few up close at my gym. It is drop-dead gorgeous. I think Brilliant Black with the Ti wheels is the perfect combo for that car.
You mean Johnny’s manual car? That ain’t a normal car though he’s ploughed a few £ notes at that car, then you look at mitchy ttrs dsg with map and car delete and be runs consistent 11.3’s all day. Dsg is wizardry
I believe Johnny’s car is APR stage III? There is another manual one that I found on Youtube running 11.3x I am in the office now so I can’t search for it… I’ll post later… I’ll be sinking some cash into mine so not a biggie as I know you have to pay to go faster 
Also, like I mentioned my S4 is DSG and it does fairly well drag racing for what it is…
