Tyre Pressure Warning Never Came On?

Hi,

Had a rear drivers side flat on way home last week. Had to make it 5 miles home, literally with the tyre in shreds nearly hanging off. It was no blowout, but as the tyre lost pressure, how come no warning code came on (TPMS) dashboard.

Shamefully I have to admit I did not put Conti’s back on at £306 a pop, but went for a kumho at £158. Amazing how crap a cheap tyre looks :frowning: lesson learned.

I guess the first question is do you have the TPMS sensors on the rims and do you have the system active. In your MMI system can you see the tire pressures if you look in the options. If I remember correctly you should be able to see the actual tire pressure if you look.

I’ll dig around some more, but in the “normal” menus, there’s no actual pressures that’s displayed; only “store pressures” and “change wheels”

I’ll poke around the hidden menu and see if there’s any pressure values there.

same on my car… only those 2 options

I just looked th :’(rough the mmi and couldn’t see anything related to tpms in any of the menus. Is the tpms an optional extra? I would have thought it standard on a car like this, if not a bit dissapointed

I know they have it as an option on the S8 but after looking at a friends S6 I dont see it. The newer S6 has the option.

From what I recall my 08 s6 had Tpms and would show low air in the tire on the dash, but I don’t recall being able to view the pressures in the menu.

it just had the reset values button when swapping tires or refilling with air
