Unitronic Stage 2 1/4 mile results

Hey guys, posting for a friend. Went on wednesday to the night drags here in Puerto Rico with a couple of friends. Friend ran his 2013 S4 DSG w/ injen intake and Unitronic pulley and tune. He has the 93 octane tune but was running 91oct. as he wasn’t able to burn it all of from his last tank. Was only able to get two runs in. Temp was about 80 degrees. No idea how to calculate DA though.

Before anyone asks why unitronic, local giac dealer (only one in PR) quoted him almost $4k for stage 2 tune + DSG tune and APR was going through the whole RSC fiasco and he didn’t feel comfortable at the time buying from them. Don’t even know if there is a Revo dealer here so that wasn’t an option lol.

On both slips it is the time on the left. Car on right is a friends 2015 Golf R w/ Apr stage 1 tune, catless downpipe, apr intake running 93 oct. not sure if he has any other mods.

First run was straight after driving 1 1/2 hours to there. Used launch control.
The second run i got in and tried the mash and go and kinda failed lol. But this was after about an hour.

When we left we put a bit of 93 oct. and did a pull with a friends C63 and were basically even with him so i don’t think its performing all to bad lol. We are going to try to go again sometime but with an actual tank of 93 octane lol. Will post up the results if/when we go.

Nice to see the results. I’m not 100% sure but those times don’t look at the that great for a stage 2 car. Did he have DSG software too. Maybe I’m just used to seeing the top guys doing battle for sub 11.7 times on stage 2. I’m sure some of the other guys might have more thought on this.

Still that’s cool to see this posted. More information for everyone

looks like they forgot to tune his car. May want to ask unitragic about that one

p.s. was this in Puerto Rico, or Maryland? Timeslip is a weird one.

This other guy on AZ went 11.978@117.71 on a unitronic pump file at ATCO. -800 DA, 6mt, 93/e85 in tank
So the tune certainly has a lot more in it…

Running in 80 degrees isn’t helping, try a cooler night next time. Bad mix of fuel has always slowed me down so try to get that sorted out next time. I think better conditions and fuel alone will improve the time considerably. Not sure how well your friend can stage/launch. Needs to bring that 60 down, should be much lower for a stg2 car.

No DSG software just the stage 2 tune. I agree the times aren’t all that great which is why we want to go back with 93 octane in rather than 91. Im sure that the fact that he has the 93 tune makes it even worse when he runs 91 lol.

It’s in Puerto Rico. I have no clue why but all the timeslips from this track that I have seen have that Maryland heading on them.

Yeah the temperature doesn’t help but unfortunately it probably wont get much colder than 70 degrees here. I found a DA calculator (the one from dragtimes.com) and it was around +1600 DA at the time.

Yeah the 60ft needs work but honestly we never go drag racing and only had one run each so we didn’t really get to do anything to try and get it down. At least we realized that launch control isn’t any quicker lol. Any tips here are appreciated.

That is weird!

I know that Capital Raceway has changed hands a few times over the past few years. Wonder if they sold the printer from one of the owners to someone in PR. All my slips from the actual Capital Raceway in MD come out like the normal long shopping receipt.

yeah, those aren’t timeslips, those are printouts from their main timing system. They would also have the regular ones.

once in a while if the track doesn’t have someone in the hut doing timeslips you’ll have to go to the main room with those printouts which they genearlly just put on the windows so people can see them.

Weird… All the slips i have seen from this track are like these, Maryland heading and everything lol. We’ll see if they’re different next time i go.
