yeah 4 cams for a small market isn’t going to be cheap. Shrick cams were about $2000 for the set.

Vogz: beemercer:cams for domestic pushrod V8s will go for around that much
Yea, but that’s for 1 cam. We have 4. Expect at least $1000-$1200 and probably more for an upgrade if it ever happens.

Keep beating that dead horse.
I did read the thread first. Your post was ambiguous. Sounded like you were saying 4 different cam options.
I’m sorry I misinterpreted it. Maybe next time you won’t jump to the conclusion that I didn’t read the thread.
Calm down buddy, we are just thickening your skin up for your time over here. Your only 8 posts deep don’t get bent out of shape so easy.

you guys are going to have to wrestle to settle this.
yea this site is def not for those that get butt hurt… thick skin is a prerequisite here haha

Cool as a cucumber over here.
8 posts deep on revolution…must be a forum noob!!! lol
Back on topic. Anyone know the specs on our stock cams? There might not be much advantage to an upgrade without compromising drivability.
JHM looked deep into cams for the B6/7 S4. What they found was that the stock setup was pretty effective, and that to achieve gains they would be
a) nominal yet very expensive
b) at the cost of a lumpy idle and a significant loss of refinement
It would shock the shit out of me if it was any different for the B8.

I figured. That’s how most newer 4-cam motors are. I still run stock heads/cams on my 10 second 350Z, idles and drives like a dream.
what would be cool for you guys is if you could see Audi produce a superduper RS verison of a 3.0T that shares parts, but has other improved parts. Then you could scavenge there.
This is what many of the B5 S4 guys do…they pick parts off the B5 RS4. For all of the performance focus in the B5 world, I can’t remember seeing too many that went aftermarket cams. They just grab the RS4 parts for the most part (although many never bother)
They didn’t do that with the 4.2 S4, as the RS4 had a completely different engine that share nothing other than nomenclature. However they did some of it with the S5 motor…low revving verison of the 4.2 FSI RS4 motor. I wonder if those guys could scavenge some parts to upgrade? We are also seeing it with the 4.0T with the S6/7 and A8 low output version being different in a number of ways to the RS6/RS7 and S8 version.
I just haven’t seen anything that would indicate the 3.0T being proposed for a bigger role in the performance/RS cars. Seems destined to be used for the A, Q and S cars

you’re probably going to need one or both of these if you decide to stick around

Cute, but played out. You’re going to have to try harder than that to rattle me. Smooches

I don’t see that happening either. I’ll just enjoy mild modification on the S4 and leave the heavy stuff to my weekend car.
^^^I’ve never seen anyone show a tube of preparation H. That’s played out already? I thought it was pretty funny

You need to frequent some more OT forums. Shit has been done for 10 years, lol
ahh.
speaking of OT, I saw some stats from the quattrofail OT forum, and the top poster had like 40,000 posts…last year? WTF!
Vogz, tell us more about this 350z
ahh.

in one year??? That is nuts. There is a few guys on the OT forum that I frequent (ClubSi OT) that start new accounts all the time after getting banned or shamed away and they will amass near 100,000 posts in a couple years.
Vogz, tell us more about this 350z
It’s pretty basic, APS twin turbo kit on built bottom end + meth and supporting mods. Try to keep it as stock looking as possible.
