VAGCOM alternative for mobile devices?

Has anyone tried CaristaApp + BT OBD2? I met the founder yesterday at a startup fair (in Sofia BG) and he was telling me that they offer vehicle specific customization features along with the standard OBD2 scanner functions.

It doesn’t offer logging, so it’s still sort of a VAGCOM-lite, but I’m still not clear what the functionality gap is. I’m always going to my mechanic to get check fault codes with a VAGCOM scan, but not doing any real-time logging. What important features am I missing? A cable is useless for me because my laptop is Mac OSX.

lots of people have Macs and are using vagcom. But I have heard good reviews of that app. There is a pretty long thread over on AW. It can do some basic things and change some codes.

The APP is simple but basic. Vag com has a nice hold on the market and they have the most indepth options for the tool I believe they have a working relationship with VW AG. For the money and what the vag com tool offers. Its priced right and worth the money

Yeah, I agree. But I just don’t want to run Win on my Macbook. Such sacrilege…

MAxbooks love windows. LOL I understand what you mean.

What some guys do is to piick up a cheap mini laptop and just use that for all the audi tool stuff. They just keep it in the car. I have a small laptop just for logs and vag com. It was cheap

or buy tablet for 100+euros with windows, i have 10" and its fine

brilliant. I’d love to do that.

what have you got?

Someone here had a $60 one they were using. Pretty amazing pricing on tablets these days.

my is asus vivotab smart 10.1". around 150$, but now they are probably cheper. maybe will be also 8" good, on 10" vcds isnt on full resolution (full screen) and its still fine to work with finger or stylus. my vcds work from windows vista-7-8-8.1-10 x86, its not working on x64
