Question on VCDS. So from what I understand, it can do logs, it can do some form of customizations/unlocking, and it allows putting calipers in service mode for pad swaps. Any other benefits to owning the cable?
I’m considering getting one. Right now, I’m getting by with the Carista app, and the primary difference i see is logs (which is handy, but not something I’d use all the time). I know tons of ppl love these cables. What more is it good for?
Can flash some models with it.
Read generic obd codes on non audis.
Force readiness for smog on some models.
It has a great resale, if you ever decide to sell.
logs, pulling codes, doing mods like disabling wink, euro tail lights, open windows with remote, etc, resetting service intervals if you don’t have audi care, etc. For me the #1 reason is to log my car so I know what is what… If you drive an Audi, mod it and race it you should have a cable imo…
