Look at the asshat in the B8 barely holding the wheel, that really bothers me for some reason. I will defeintely do pulls on the street when conditions are favorable so I’m not against it, but he has no control of that car if anything happened.
It’s crazy to see how strong B8s run. Any clue on the fuel in the B5? Does “homebrew” mean a mix or additive or is the guy talking about the fuel system hardware? It’s good to see an honest B5 guy post a good video.
Euro, Totally agree on the wheel comment and I thought the exact same thing… Fucking your going 100+ take it seriously… No clue on your other questions…
its offical the b5 is out to pasture…what a joke… A almost stock B8 was catching the b5 what a joke the b5 got handled
as if it hasn’t been said 10000x the low rpm low gear race just showed how pethetic the b5 is in any real world siuation.
I don’t like the B8 guys that think its safe to just kinda go super laid back when racing. I think the B5s are such a pile of shit now adays you can feel every bump and you feel like the car is going to crash at any second. The B8 is much more refined with a stiffer suspension dynamic steering and suspension its a safer faster more stable car. Sometimes that can apparently give a faulse sence of safty.
Either way the b5 is dead… Its now cars for cheap kids
He’s going over 140+ in some runs, and is laying back like he’s driving to a car show on a Sunday morning. Only time there’s one hand on my wheel when I’m racing is for shifts- that’s it…
So I guess now we know a jfonz tuned “stage 3+” b5 s4 is a mid to low12s car. The saviour of the b5 platform. You’re able to send the b5 s4 backwards 5 years in progress, and get applauded for doing so by high schoolers everywhere .
To match that $10,000 build, a b8 guy got tune and exhaust. An rs4 could do so with tune and piggies.
Here’s what stage 3 b5 s4s used to look like. These cars would put a football field on that b5 and b8 in a race right through fifth.
Def not looking for an argument, more just asking for your opinion…
You really think an RS4 with just a tune and piggies can put up a fight with a Stage 2 S4? From looking at numbers it seems that even a Full JHM Bolt on car with 10k in mods is trapping around 111ish.
I would loveeeeee to do a pull with a JHM RS4, moreso excited to see results either way than bragging rights.
I see JHM 2.75" Exhaust, JHM 2.75" Downpipes, JHM Tune, K&N Drop-in, JHM Crank Pulley, JHM Phenolic Intake Spacers and a fresh carbon clean as a good running mid to low 12 second car…
Clutch, flywheel, short shifter and LW rotors f+r are needed eventually but I don’t think are essential for low 12’s since we’ve seen a sub 12.5 stock tune time I believe.
I would also say that that there’s probably closer to 15k into the B5 in comparison to the B8 which is around $3500 with a lot less labor needed in regards to the B8.
Ask tsivas27 or yourself. Didn’t your dad’s tuned b8 barely pull on tony? He was basically stock.
Anyway I was referring to running mid to low 12s, not roll racing. Here…
Hell a couple of not-even-tuned rs4s went low 12s. Mistro went 12.4 @ 113.9 with piggies, intake spacers, hpipe (in stock exhaust) …that’s it. Oh and coilovers lol.
Jnaut went 12.2 on stock tune, catless downpipes, stock car back and a bunch of lightweight mods (flywheel, rotors etc) .
So yes I absolutely think it can be done.
I went 12.75 in the spring and 12.82 @ 109.9 last fall (I’m completely stock) and when I raced Mistro (jhm tune, piggies, spacers, crazy k pulley, hpipe) this happened…
I ran Tony the other night (45? Roll) Did a few pulls. Couldn’t get any slower bc of area. Wasn’t close at all. His carbon clean is a few months old and his clutch finally is working and not sticking.
He basically asked if I had a new tune. Loving those JHM LW F/R rotors btw. Other than them- only thing that’s new is the CPS.
Saki- Video of Pete’s dad was with Pete as passenger (2 guys @ 250) vs Tony (165 soaking wet). Think they had him by 2-2.5 cars. Was when he was on Revo Tune.
Jnaut had a lot of lightweight mods as you stated and was on 98 octane, both of which IMO probably have more of a positive effect on the car than the tune…
In fact out of the 4 top N/A RS4 times 2 of them are stock tune and 2 are JHM tune- the two stock tune cars are trapping higher. Granted ones on 98 and the other 94 but still…
When my dad raced Tony we were both in car and my dad was tune only. 510lbs in passengers vs. 160lbs. We still got him by 2-3 cars and that was when my dad wasn’t great with DSG and he would just gun it in auto mode (the car would take about a full second to downshift and the clutch to grab). Between that and the extra weight it would have been pretty ugly.
Tsivas raced Tony when Tsivas was stock and Tony had just the H-pipe and drop in filter. Dead even. I ran my dads old RS4 with his current car. My dads old car had 15k in carbon. I actually pulled about 1/2-1 full car.
I think Tony’s car pre-carbon and my dads old RS4 vs. my dads stock and S4 and Tsivas stock S4 is probably similar to your stock RS4 since you haven’t had a carbon clean up. So Mistro’s car probably pulled on yours the way he’d pull on a Stock S4. Me and Tsivas did a pull when I got my new car. He had me by atleast 10 cars I couldn’t even see him anymore and I’m a much better shifter and we went from 2nd gear on
The only way we can finally settle this, which is think needs to be done because between the S4 and RS4 I think we’re both pretty curious to see how we stack up is to just line them up. Me, my dad and Tsivas are ready…
You ran tony and beat him. What fuel were you running?
Tony’s car is constantly broken, likely a result of his mechanic (himself). Is it really a strong running RS4?
Tony’s car is untuned. Not really pertinent to this discussion
Tsivas, you have an $8,000 modlist yes? Again, not part of this discussion.
When you ran Paul’s RS4 last year, what happened?
I will post what I wrote again, because I can sense that you guys are urinating in your pants with anxiety.

A JHM tune + piggies RS4 will most certainly hang with any tune and exhaust B8 S4 (a mid to low 12s car) in a quarter mile run. If you want an $8,000 modlist on the B8 S4 to make you feel better, that’s cool. Can I spend $8,000 on the RS4 too? if so, let me dial in a JHM Vortech V3 supercharger kit ($7900) + piggies (free). I will run in the 11s on california 91. Do you really think this is going to go well for the B8 S4?
So, to stay on topic, I will say again: tune + exhaust B8 S4 = tune + piggies RS4 = most stage III B5 S4 (K04 or equivalent turbos).

Sad (for the B5) but true .

93 Shell like I always do. Aside from the few sessions that I did for vbox 100 testing.
1a. Tony’s car has 115k miles. Normal wear and tear items go. He uses same audi tech I use and he is def up on all the maintenance. His car runs fine. Recent carbon clean, Clutch grabs awesome, non sticky clutch pedal. Most of his problems recently were from his JHM clutch and LW crank pulley, and before that the carbon demon and some fuel pump/regulator stuff.
Tony ran Paul a few times (2-3 iirc) with his current JHM setup (before he broke down) and he barely pulled on him.
My mod list is ($1500 tune, $600 pulley, $1400 exhaust w/ stock dps, $1100 used CPS, $350 intake, $150 short shifter, $1450 rotors) ~ $6600.
vs Paul? Think I won and I started in 3rd. Def not best comparison imho.
Only reason I mentioned Tony’s car is b/c my name was brought up above in regards to me running him and he’s only RS4 that comes out to do runs.
When Paul eventually comes out (I have been trying to get him out), we will post up those results also. I have no bias. You know that. Love the RS4. Besides… It’ll be better comparison as he has ~$8gs in similar mods.
with the exception of a few outside of this thread, i think everyone in this thread so far has nothing but love for the v8’s i know i do, i had 2 of them

I like your shots at JHM and Paul. Those are thinly veiled and you may want to reconsider them.
I was not referring to you vs. Tony because as I said, he is not tuned and you don’t have ‘tune+exhaust’. Whenever that sinks in let me know!
I was referring to you racing Paul to 130 mph (when you had tune + exhaust) and being door handle to door handle. When he was barely modded… stock tune, he had stock cats and stock everything but tubi mufflers and maybe lw rotors.
And I was referring to Tony racing Pete’s REVO tuned DSG B8 S4 with AWE exhaust…when Tony was nearly stock. It was very close.
I know I know…it’s awful to hear that the RS4 is succesful. Sorry guys.
p.s. Euroswagr is the only guy to actually read the posts. Tsivas, Pete…you just blew up and went all anti RS4.
Paul is a grown ass man and has come out to your ‘racetrack’ a couple of times already. One time he put up a solid 60-130 time for an RS4 that is almost stock…and you guys left it off the list.
Another time he raced Tsivas when he was almost stock…and they tied to 130 mph…and Tsivas acts like it never happened.
Is it just me or is this not something Paul should bother with? the message is pretty clear. You don’t have an RS4 list. You have a B8 S4 list with Tony’s ailing RS4’s slow time on there.
So forgive me if I side with Paul on this. What’s the motivation for him?
All of you bitches should just go to the dragstrip (and yes Tsivas I’m talking to you…you went to the strip at least one other time and didn’t even run!). Don’t bother tripling the speed limit on a public road in an irrelevant test. The 60-130 is for tire mulching Supras and modified 996 GT2 drivers who can’t grip a fucking lick below 60mph. We drive quattro equipped Audis.
