Weepy drivers side rear 17mm fuel line fitting - HELP

Guys,

My apologies for starting a new thread here, but the attention is needed. I’ve just got the car back together after fuel injectors and vac line replacements. Car runs well but the drivers rear 17mm fuel line slip nut fitting is weeping fuel. This is where the fuel line from pump connects to the rail. You can see to image right - it leaks at base of fitting.

I’ve gone back and forth tightening the fitting on the fuel pump and the rear slip nut evenly. I find that the rear 17mm fitting won’t sinch down tight past finger tight. If anything a tiny bit with a wrench, so I’m assuming it’s just not seating the end of the fuel line down property into the fitting.

The fitting weeps fuel when the pumps are primed a couple times.

Could the fitting be worn out?

Aside from ordering a new fuel line + fittings anything else I could try?

I dealt with this exact issue.

Ended up using a crow’s foot wrench to tighten it properly.

Loosen the end at the fuel pump and try to match up the angles from the fitting to the line, if it’s not a straight connection it will leak.

Tighten the fitting near the distribution end first then the fitting at the pump.

Hope that helps.

I didnt get the picture to load for me…

Sorry about the image… using google photo as the host. I twas loading previously.

I was finally able to get a good seal on the fitting. The 10mm 12pt bolt that holds down the rear fuel rail fitting as well as the hoist bracket wasn’t down completely. one turn tight and that seemed to help firm up positioning of the fitting. Worked back and forth to seat them at the same time making sure the line was straight and everything seems good now. I will say, I still don’t feel like that connector turned enough to securely seat the end into the fitting. I’m going to use an angled 17mm to get better leverage and ensure it’s snug and safe.

Thanks guys!

PS - car feels great. Idle is better, higher end power is back. But I’ve got an MIL for bank 1 flapper sensor. DOH! It’s always something. I’ll post more about that later to my initial thread.

You really don’t need to crazy tighten down the fuel connections snug pluss a 1/8th turn.

Check the codes for the flap. You really will only get codes for the lower tumble flaps just make sure if you have JHM intake spacers on that you DON"T put on the motor lift brackets. They get removed
