Weighed/measured some stuff

RS4 downpipes with all cats in place - 28.4 lbs for both

RS4 downpipes diameter - 2.61-2.62" for most of the length, with a short tapered section where it mates up to the stock cat back. Here, it is 2.36-2.37".

Rs4 catback as mentioned above is 2.36-2.37". It tapers for bends etc but that’s the diameter of pipe.

I will weigh the catback tomorrow. It’s heavy! I’m submitting a guess of 70lbs.

Also weighed my winter tires that are going on my stock wheels. Bridgestone blizzak in 255.35.19 xl . They are 23.8 lbs each bit are about 30% worn so keep that in mind. Probably around 25each new. Added to stock 19s at 26.8 each should be in the 52 lb range.

Also weighed my winter wheels for the b8 a4. They are Michelin pilot alpin 245.40.18 on stock b8 s4 18" wheels. Each weighed 51.4. These tires are right around 50%.

Thats all for now!

Good info. I have a few similar items in my garage, I should have done this myself.

Wow that’s heavy for the stock exhaust. I’m always surprised how relatively light the stock RS4 wheels are.

We’ve probably discussed this to death, but what lighter 19x9 options are there for the RS4? Not everyone rocks the 18’ wheels lol

19*9 is tough. You end up in forged $3000+ wheels.

HRE are like 23-24. Not that much of a savings for a boatload of money and a wheel that looks worse.

It is hard to find a 9 inch wide wheel under twenty pounds in 18s or 19s. HRE was trying to bring back the carbon fiber/magnesium wheels but they were going to ask $10K for a set!

Yesterday I weighted my 18x9 forgestar wheels with tires and hubcentric ring to see 47.5 pounds. The spare OEM b6 S4 wheel and tire weighted 53 pounds.

^^^what forgestars?

My F14s. They are 18x9 et30. Tirerack says the Michelin SS 265/35/18 tires that I have weigh 26 pounds so the wheel and hubcentric ring weigh around 21.5 pounds.

^^^winter steelies?

No they are gloss black and that was when I still had the car mostly in pieces. Also my Iphone 4S at the time sucked taking pictures.

I got some enkei 18x9 et35 wheels (originally for track wheels) and some winter tires for my trip at the end of the year.

I know, just messing. Can’t see shit in that pic. Black is tough in photos. Looks great in real life but disappears in a photo. Cameras struggle to show more than a stop of light, whereas our eyes can see a much wider range of exposures.

To put it another way, we see in HDR, and a camera sees in one 7th of what we see.

Saki just turn up ur brightness.
Jimmy ur car looks like it is oiled up in the rear lol what were u doing to her??

It was buildup from having the car sit for over a year. At the time I was still working on getting everything installed.
