Weird electrical stuff

So yesterday I made a few wiring installations for various things and all seemed to work fine. However, this morning, I noticed a slight short circuit. Here’s the weird part. It only occurs when headlights are on, it’s dark outside and the dome light is off. In other words:

I’m in my underground garage (dark surroundings), headlights on and dome light is on, no short circuit.
Outside in daylight, headlights on, dome light off, no short circuit.
Inside garage, head lights on, dome light off, short circuit.

What is the car doing that when it’s dark out and the dome light is off that’s different from daylight out or dome light on.

So weird.

I think the culprit is my wiring from my dynavin unit to my ashtray light. Will need to re-look at that but I don’t have many spots to hook up my dynavin button lights to a circuit that is only on when the headlights are on.

something to do with your light sensor

what the hell are ‘a few wiring installations for various things’?

Specifically, my dynavin’s buttons connected to my ashtray light (my illuminated shift knob was already connected to it), an antenna to the dynavin’s power lead in order to give the antenna more range (had to disconnnect it when I swaited for the dynavin to come back from warranty), and an external usb/cigarette lighter device that only gets power when the car is turned on so that I can plug things into it without worry of draining my battery if I want to leave it plugged in.

As I mentioned in my first post, I’m thinking it’s the dynavin button illumination wire. Man I hate removing that ashtray. Such a pain.

So you had to get the supercharger and convert to a generator to help power all of those things
