Back to this clutch issue. My concern going to the jhm clutch route, is with the b7 rs4 pp. While it very well may be better than the b5 rs4 pp, aren’t there some known issues with the OEM pp? Or was this the OEM b7 fly wheel?
The supercharged rs4 had trouble with the pressure plate because it made loads of power/torque over stock AND it was a b7 rs4 revving to 8000+
Reality is the problem with the oem rs4 pressure plate is primarily an rs4 issue. The engine spins to 8200 rpm. That’s where the issues with the sticky clutch come from. Even stock. Although a couple of b67 supercharged cars also had sticky issues.
JHM redesigned their own to deal with it. I imagine that the oem b7 rs4 pp is fine on a stock engine b5 revving to 6800 but check with jhm to see if they’re implementing the 5r setup for you guys.
OK. Knew there was something to that effect…I’ll talk with them more about it and go from there. Thanks
