Yea that thread was incredible with his “car makes 300 lb-ft always, takes horsepower to move a 4k car” nonsense, and “throttle is binary, either on or off”. Was pure gold, he still doesn’t understand why he’s wrong, but that’s a lack of understanding F = ma, not the complexities of how engines work.
My other favorite quote of his was buried in a random chatterbox thread, where he said something of the sort “I have one of the cleanest S4’s out there, I will probably sell it for 44k when I’m ready for my M3”. I think apex then told him “dude, you think you have one of the cleanest S4’s? After hundreds of track days in the CA desert with your revo 100 tune?” He actually didn’t respond, but that was hilarious.
West is no doubt a smart guy within his network engineer world, but he clearly thinks he can learn anything on a whim and definitely enjoys trolling. But his trolling is more of the shit talking variety, not the purposefully say dumb shit to evoke a response. He truly believes some of those awfully stupid things, just most of the time his claims are not easily dismissible without argument, but of course he refuses to acknowledge counterargument.
But if you poke him right, he’ll still say things like “according to audizine my car only makes 70 lb-ft in traffic”, which is ironic, because he’s essentially boasting to anyone with a 8th grade education that “I am a dumb fuck who doesn’t understand how force affects acceleration”.
