Decided to go for a lapping event today. The bad news is it rained a lot. The good news is the car handled really well. People were sliding off the track everywhere but the RS stuck very well through the turns.
Just a few random highlights. It was a lapping event so there’s strictly no passing unless the person in front pulls over to let you pass, and only on the front or back straights. You’re also advised not to push people in front of you to go faster. That’s why there are parts where I’m just taking it easy when there are cars in front.

Some thoughts:
On the dash cam - It’s getting old and suffering from heat stroke. The lens cleaning took away the foggyness (Here’s what it used to look like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_I6CujKwQrs) , but it’s not a crisp as it used to be, and there are artifacts in the compression on things like brake lights. The sound also seems to cut out randomly. I may have maybe loosened the mic connector by accident or something when I was cleaning the lens though. Also, when you put in a fresh SD card, the date gets screwed up. It used to sync using the GPS date or something but it doesn’t seem to do that anymore.
On ESP - It’s quite excellent, but not that great for extended track use since it’ll heat up the brakes much faster. I tried a few laps in each of the three modes. I liked the semi off mode the best for the rain. It saved my ass a few times when I was starting to get too cocky.
On the exhaust - Sounds gorgeous, especially hearing it reverb off the barrier concrete. I got numerous compliments from the guys there.
On the botched downshift at 3:00 - Overreved it past the revmatch point. Yes, it was as painful to me as it was to you listening to it. There’s a redeeming downshift at 3:18 though lol
On having 4 doors and a full interior - The track had emptied out quite a bit (was just 2 other cars on the entire track at this point) so a few of the honda guys I had just met there wanted to take a spin with me. They were pretty excited about it, and kept complimenting how nice the v8 sounds. I pulled up to staging to do a light easy lap and the guy chuckles and goes “4 people?”. I immediately said “I’ll go slow”, and one of the honda guys mentioned something about it being a v8 so it can handle the weight lol.
There was also another blue RS4 there (father and son I believe), but they left early so I didn’t get any on track footage of that car.
Pretty fun time, and probably my last lapping event of the year. It’s now approaching drag strip season ;D
