there are 10 years of K04 cars, and way more of them out there. That’s why there are more results. Simple numbers game. However there are not 100% bad results. Keep that in mind.

‘you guy never stop bashing Tials and how they ‘suck’’. Was this directed at me? I have not bashed Tials and how they suck. They blow anyway…they’re turbos. . What I have said is that I am suspicious of the disconnect between Tials dyno results and their weak track results. 475 whp cars do not run 11.9-12.1. 700 whp cars do not trap 128 mph. The numbers are just…off. So I’ve asked a few questions.
THe problem is in trying to figure out why the cars are not performing, I have asked about a few things
a) the turbos themselves - this discussion has been pretty good. Consensus is that you need race gas or meth and lots of boost to get them into ass-kicking range (605s especially). Unfortunately that’s not going to show up at the dragstrip and it’s definitely not going to show up in normal every day driving. I mean who wants to push 100 octane fuel and monster boost at big RPMs in big gears…that’s not what we do with our cars for the most part. So that doesn’t look very good.+
b) the shop that makes the majority of the big whp builds…AMD. The main dude is a bit of a dick on forums, but that really doesn’t matter. Lots of people think jason from JHM is a dick, but their stuff is great, so people look past it. I hear lots of praise for jason@amd, so not sure you can blame him for the cars not performing. I don’t agree with lots of what he says, but again, does that mean the turbos aren’t any good? Not likely.
c) most important - the tuning. The EPL tuning seems to constantly get a free pass on the matter. Not sure why…and in the thread I started about this, everyone whined and said ‘stop hating AMD and TIals’. Nothing to fucking do with Tials. I was also not asking about AMD. The thread title was ‘where are all the fast EPL tuned cars?’ Then everyone said ‘but look at my 60-130 and fats!’. And I said 'I don’t give a fuck about 60-130 and fats…I just want to know why there are almost ZERO fast EPL cars on the dragstrip list. Seriously…there’s one guy, NYCVR6, and his EPL tuned K04 car had the tune tweaked a bunch when he ran 11.6 @ 126. BUt guys would rather whine and call people haters than talk about the tuning and figure out what’s holding the cars back at the strip.
So…you tell me. Why is the EPL tuned EVILEVO car running 13s @ 123 while making 700 whp? He’s running a set of proven turbos, GTs, and he’s still running terrible times. You can also tell me that of the dozen or so Tial 605/770 cars that have hit the dragstrip, why are they struggling to get even into the 11s? Does that sound right to you? Is it what I mentioned above…that they’re a bigtime top end turbo, arent so awesome downlow, especially from a dig? Or what?
Rather than being butthurt all the time, let’s either see some good 1/4 mile times and all shut up…or lets figure out the weakness that is holding these cars back. BUt lets not get butthurt and bitch everytime someone asks a hard question.
