Wheel question and opinions...

Need to make a decision and wanted some thoughts… As most of you know I am all about performance but also like looking good(car that is! lol) At any rate I have an opportunity to get a set of BBS RS-GT 2-piece forged wheels, with Diamond Black finish and machined lip. They are 18x8, 5-112, ET35, and include the BBS PFS rings for Audi/VW 66.56mm stepped hubs, genuine BBS valve stem caps, and a brand new set of M14x1.5 28mm lug bolts. These wheels weigh 21.4lbs each.

I prefer 19’s but I have seen these on an S4, even though Tirerack says they don’t work and they looked good… I attached a picture below, it’s the middle S4, not the greatest but it’s the only one I have… It is the wheels off that car…

So how is that offset? I can’t remember exactly how flush they sat… What is the widest tire I could run on a 8 inch wheel? Need to calculate how this will impact my shifts and such at the strip… They are 3.4lbs per wheel lighter… If they were 19’s it would be done… Thoughts? Also, the deal that I am getting is only if I commit to keeping them and using them not reselling at a profit in the short term as I am basically stealing these…

Also, would these work on my TTRS???

machined lip just makes the wheel look small to me. Being 18 AND machined lip, I think they’l look funny. I also think those are not the best looking BBS wheel to start with.

I quite like the CHR.

To save 16 lbs I don’t think I’d go through the sacrifice in looks and the expense. Doesn’t make a ton of sense.

Get some 19" VOLKS (TE37) in gunmetal…18 lbs each or so…and some Pilot Super Sport tires. NOW you’re talking. Great looks, great weight (around 41 lbs / corner). or try to find some BBS RE in 19.

My 19x9 Rennens weigh in at 20.4. Not sure what you’re looking to spend but for what does BBS’s cost new I’d look elsewhere. I paid 2900 in a GB a few years back for mine.

I would do 18x8 RPF1 with a 255/40/18 General tire… That combo is good for 38.9lbs per corner per Tirerack.

^^^too little. They also can look funny.

What about the Enkei version of the CHR or the VMR710. There’s an Enkei raijun or something that looks like those wheels and if it’s nice and light that would be a good option. The Audi guys seem slow to pick up on them.

Agreed! I like those also

I went with Alufelgen SF-71 19x9.5 w/ Michelin PSS. They are lightweight, inexpensive, and good looking (at least in my opinion).

Thos Enkei’s are really nice.

Guys, thanks for the input… Just to be clear I am not in the market but these were offered to me at a price that is basically, I want them out of my garage just come and get them deal… Half tempted just to pick them up in case I ever decide to winter drive this car… I love the look of the wheel itself just the size scares me… More interested in getting wheels for the TTRS but I am pretty sure I know that I want the OZ Superforgiatas… Decisions decisions… LOL
