Wheel spacer question and feedback

Guys,
Just joined the Audi family again. I recently sold my E46 for a 2008 S4 DTM. Absolutely love the car. My question is in regards to wheel spacers. I actually love the 18" OEM RS 4 reps, but I am looking for a slightly more aggressive stance. Has anyone just put spacers on the rear to give it a slight offset look? What’s the least aggressive setup you guys run? I have stock suspension setup as well. Don’t want wheels to poke out to much , because without a drop, it could look terrible.

Thanks.

10mm front and 16-18mm rear seems to be perfect for stock setups. I run 8 front and 12 rear and it could use some more bump

Here is mine with stock tire size on Avus wheels with (I think) an ET42 offset. I am also lowered on H&R springs so mine looks wider than a car with stock suspension will. My spacers are H&R branded

That looks great. Thanks for the info.

Looks Hella-Clean! :o

Anyone on here have a pic of this setup, or something close:

“10mm front and 16-18mm rear seems to be perfect for stock setups.”

Thanks

if I were the op I would just get 18x8.5 VMR708 for the car. Look more like the RS4 wheel than the 18" 2008 S4 wheels do…and you can get them in gunmetal

also 18x8.5 ET38 will be the same flushness as running 13mm spacers all the way around (your stock wheels are ET45 I believe).

Maybe use the stockers for winters if you live somewhere cold.

@Joe what trunk lip do you have? Have any more angles of it?

Welcome OP. Sorry I have no experience with wheel spacers I’ve just selfishly posted for my own benefit ;D

Stock S4 one. The shadow makes it look bigger than it is.

OP, There is a guy that has that spacer combo over on AZ. I will try to find it

Here’s a bunch of 10f 15r

Can’t find the other one that’s got the 18mm rear. Looks perfect. Just google “B6 S4 spacers avus” or something along those lines and sift through the results

don’t forget he has a B7 DTM…different wheels and different fenders

Also, if you’re getting some aggressive spacers make sure your wheels have the stock sized tires on them. 235/40/18. Sometimes owners put on 245/40/18 on their wheels to get a little more tread surface. That size is perfectly OK unless you are lowered and/or have an aggressive offset.

@ Joe thanks bud

Do the B7’s have different fenders/more clearance? I have heard that a few times but I’ve never seen an instance where it was proven. DTM won’t make a difference

B6 does not equal B7

my car had 18x8.5 ET38 and 245 tires and the back still looked a bit tucked and the front was just about pokey. That’s the equivalent of 13mm spacers on stock ET45 or 10mm on ET43.

iirc I had 10/18 but its been so long I cant remember

Thanks. I will look over in AZ as well, but I appreciate the post, and help.
The post about DTM being different caught be off guard. Ill have to look into that.

Also, Im stock, and have stock rubber. No low.

up to you. Personally I always felt that the B7 looked best with 18" wheels. Maybe that was to help me not lower the car lol. On that note, 19s look kinda silly on stock ride height…not sure if you planned to stay stock.

The RS4 looks just right wtih 19" wheels, but it accomplishes this with the aid of massive flared fenders and a 1" lower ride height. The B7 S4 can look a little big-wheelish with 19s. The DTM for whatever reason manages the 19s a bit better but again, a ride height drop is really paramount to this being succesful.

this is cool…great comparison

B7 A4 lowered (top) with VMR708 in Avus silver (must be the only one on earth) vs. my B7 Rs4 in Avus Silver (one of 2000 on earth lol)

Avus A4??? Blasphemy.

@sakimoano… I agree. 19"s could look “truckish” with no drop.

Spent weekend looking at my car. I also looked at a regular S4 without DTM front bumper. I really think they look different from a wheel offset standpoint. On mine I feel like the fronts look as though they are near to flush while the rears look very sunk in and not flush. Could be illusion as I’m running 245 /40/18 Pirelli p6’s I’m just trying to figure out what spacers I need. I saw a s4 today with 10mm all around but no DTM. It looked great, but I’m not sure same goes for my car. I guess I’ll go with trial and error. In my head I’m thinking 5mm up front and 10mm in back. This could all change when I go to 235 ps2’s come summer. FML.
