Wheels & Tires Thread

I can get 255/35-19’s for less than $1400 all in, installed in Alberta. If your price includes install then it’s a very good price.

Just got a set of VMR 810’s 18x9.5 et 45 wrapped with Dunlap Direzza ZII’s at 245/40R18. The wheels were 1140 shipped and the tires were 780 out the door mounted + balanced. Feeling pretty good about these for the track ;D

I think I’ll wait one more year. This will be my 5th year on the V12s but they seem to be holding up well (I’m too busy to drive much anymore).

Forgot to post here too; got the SSRs on and did the 034 stud conversion at the same time. The 235/45/17 on a 8.5" wheel seems to be as big as you can go on an otherwise stock car, driven about 500 miles and had 2 small rubs from going over choppy pavement

39.4lbs per corner

Those look amazing on the car, B

Man…I really want to do a stud conversion. So tired of having pretty much 3 sets of different kind of lug bolts.

finally got some rain recently, very very impressed by the PSS’s, completely competent in the rain whereas the RS3s were always a bit hairy

Renn Motorsport rs-51 , michelin PSS 265/35/19 , recently refinished calipers with kawasaki green

Really liking the green and that your flat black has some shine!Nice wheels on the Q as well!

Any idea how much the wheels weigh?

Thanks

SQ5 are the standard 21" OEM wheels powdered coated gloss black

They were between 21 - 22 lbs each!

Put some winters on the Boxster for Tahoe runs and other trips to Yosemite, Sierras, Oregon, Nevada. 215 width front, 235 width rear, on 18x8 BBS SR all around. Summers are 20x10 rear on 285 width, for comparison. The tire is Pirelli Scottozero 3.

The chains are for rears only, RWD? Winters and chains, Hmmm

I appreciate your commitment to being you

It snows in Germany, right? Rear engine RWD is actually a good snow car. If you try to leave coastal California, there’s mountains on all sides. Caltrans puts up chain control stops and won’t let you continue on the highway unless you have them. In this situation, you don’t want to buy the cheap ones at the gas station. The good ones go on easily. Yes, they go on the drive wheels only.

are those 15s? they’re tiny. Post a pic with the summers.

what are those, HRE M/P 40? Looks great.

HRE FF01 gloss white 20x10

He is probably implying it is smartest to put chains on ALL tires; not just the rears.

Chains are only supposed to go on the drive wheels. So in quattro, yes snow chains on all 4.

You say it likes its doctrine and its the ONLY way.

Why dont you look up the physics of extremely good traction on 2 of the 4 tires in very slick conditions; especially when turning.
