Who plans on doing some racing this year?

Just curious who plans on beating the crap out of their car this year. Drag, road, hill climb, auto cross, etc… Any aspect of motorsports. I’ll be home in a week and a half and I need just a few days to button my car up, then tuning, and of course I’ll be at the drag strip as usual. I’m looking forward to some S4’s pushing the bar this season. I noticed big boost’s build is just about finished up, looking forward to results from that and many other builds. Let’s hear it fellas.

Not FAW or jibberjive…Seriously though, and I know I’m a B7 guy, but I plan to have headers and a clutch by the fall for some more 1/4 mile runs. I’m chasing JHMs 12.70 all motor, hope to break into the 12.6x s.

Sweet man, best of luck at reaching your goal. Id love to see a B7 S4 running mid 12’s all motor on street tires!

I would but our local track closed after last year. No road course or 1/4 within a several hour drive. :frowning:

I beat on it a few times last year at the track. It was pretty fun.

That blows man, my nearest track is Englishtown or Island drag way, both are welllll over an hour from me, so I can imagine how annoying it would be if I was a few hours away.

Same boat as JPO, same track closure. I will be at the GCVWS in August and plan on hitting the 1/4 with my S4, the A6 keeps suffering minor setbacks, so most likely no tracking it this year

I’m hoping to get my tranny rebuilt and hit the track this season. It would likely be towards the latter end. After I get the tranny rebuilt, I’ll probably hit the road course here a Miller Motorsports Park at least once this year. keeping my fingers crossed.

Yes many, here is a shot on the banks at Homestead

would love to see some more B5 guys push the enveliope and throw down some new dragstrip numbers. It has been pretty much a ghost town for the last couple of years for some reason, when it comes to B5 quarter mile stuff. Used to be really competitive and fun as hell to watch.

I am not sure what I will do with my RS4. I think come the fall, I will go to the dragstrip bone stock again to try and better my RS4 stock record of 12.75. I will run race gas as well to see what the difference is. In theory, all motor it shouldn’t matter much, but I think a few people will be surprised.

Awesome that’s a great shot. . Good to hear from you guys too, hopefully getting out there and tearing some shit up, I look forward to some updates. I will definitely be at the track this year, most every weakness I can think of has been addressed and then some. So, expect to see me out there asap driving the hell out of the car. If all goes as planned, you should see test and tune updates by the end of august.

was hoping you’d be at waterfest. Maybe h20? Or just locally?

I would love to see more B5 stuff. For now it looks like lots of B5 guys selling off there cars.

I would love to see more forced induction B6/7 stuff. Or rather sub 12 sec B6/7 stuff in general (whether all motor or FI).

Yea, I’m abroad the whole month of July, so no wateriest for me. It’s ok, it gives me more time to get everything done without rushing. I’ll be test n tuning first, then I’ll be running the car in events on the east coast. Etown, Atco, MIR, etc… H20 I doubt I’ll bother, there’s no legal racing there, and I don’t think it’s worth it to go down for street pulls unless I know there will be a lot of very quick cars going. I can play with 400-600whp cars locally pretty easily If I want. If there was a worth wild challenge, I’d definitely consider it. The last time I went to H20 it took almost 6 hours to get there with all the traffic. I had a pretty good time despite going with week old hamstring and adductor tears from a baseball injury. I was in some good pain, but got to roll out with JRock and a few other pretty fast rides for some roll pulls. I have to say it, but I feel like Im just too damn old for the fast n furious street games. I wouldn’t turn pulls down with any interesting 650+ whp cars, but taking that drive all the way there just for that, I doubt it. In the tristate area I am alway down to meet up with any good dudes for some fun in a safe spot. My AC pumps in the car, so I don’t mind it at all.

You would? You didn’t post at all in the various threads about the various eleven second b6/7 cars…including the rs4 that went 11.41@125 . On pump gas no meth no nitrous no b.s. That news broke on this site in fact…however it was largely ignored by the B5 community…or maybe repressed is a better word.

I was talking more about S4 than RS4 (as it’s not much of a possibility of me getting an RS4 and going forced induction with it in the near future, and there are only 2 S4 times that are sub 11). And you’re right, us ‘B5 guys’ on here are all just resentful SOB’s that ‘repress’ anything that we see as a threat, as clearly evidenced by the fact that we didn’t post in a thread in the RS4 section on the smallest active Audi forum on the internet, about a car in Europe ::slight_smile:

Arguing for argument’s sake. The OP started this thread without any ill will or ‘BS claims’ that you feel morally obligated to try to call out. Let’s let this thread stay on a positive/constructive note, and not run this one into the ground, yeah?

See the smiley face…that means its a joke. Lighten up bud

I’ve just never seen you care about the b6/7 and from the looks of it you have missed some good threads development
What about your car…hitting the strip soon out are you still dealing with your transmission ?

As for forced induction b6/7 cars there are not likely to be too many super fast cars since the internals on the bhf are limited to around 425-450 whp. One the motor build program is in full effect that will change of course.

Once my new clutch is in I’ll be going back, not looking forward to dropping my trans but oh well gotta pay to play

did you do any pulls with Tony Aiello and his 770 car? I think I saw you post that you’d be down to run him in his thead on AZ

To that end, did anyone do any pulls? Did anyone hit the dragstrip?

Get the car on a lift and make your life easier. I swapped trans on my car a month ago in under an hour and a half of total work, most of which was putting it back together. I had the trans on the floor in a half hour. Good luck, and take your time, make sure you torque everything perfectly.
