Find an RS4 with a blown engine on the cheap and go from there!
Incredibly fair price. Interesting thought. Add a supercharger or swap over to a RS5 motor.
I would love the transmission…not joking. Anyone know if it would even work on my B8 Avant? They do have DSG 2.0’s in RoW but I have no idea if they’re the same.
Update: called the number in the ad…city hall (wrong number)…called their actual number and no answer and went to generic VM. The BBB has given them an F rating

Price seems too good to be true… And I think swapping this engine was discussed, and it was too costly to be worthwhile.

Could still be legit. BBB ratings are based on all kinds of criteria. If I lived in the area I would have no problem going down to see if it was real, but I won’t be sending a money order across the country hoping the parts come
These have been for sale for a while now.
I can’t remember when the ad was posted originally , but I think it was sometime around June/July last year
One thing that makes me think this might be a scam is I assume that these parts are hard to come-by and should sell much quicker. A local in Vnacouver sold his crashed R8 on ebay in less than 2 days. But then again, given how many spoiled kids are rolling around in high-end cars with a need for speed and lack of driving skills, I wouldn’t be surprised if the ad is legit.

Haha. Actually, if I was confident enough that there was a successful end in sight I would consider it. However, with the experience i have with B8 electronic modifications I’m not liking the chances.
This is local to me and I can check it out in person if anyone is interested? It’s about 15 mins from my house.
*edit - Pricing isn’t to bad, I believe a company in the states “Overland part’s, or Overland Motor’s” has a $9,850 with core exchange on a RS4 long block, but that’s when I was looking through their old booklet about 4 months ago, so that might have changed by now.

The engine would be a horrific challenge but I’m wondering if the transmission swap is more possible.
Also need to swap driveshaft? diff?
It’s the single biggest complaint I have with my Avant right now…so frustrating.
