Who's ready for some Football?

I know there have to be some Football fans here.

Tonight the Superbowl champions Baltimore Ravens start the season against the Denver Broncos. They are playing in Denver and this should be a good game. Oddly enough the Ravens are underdogs again just like last year when they had the mile high miracle pass to send the game into overtime. Later into double overtime Baltimore kicked the game winning field goal. This year the Ravens have changed a lot of things since players retired and others were let go. The Broncos have added a few pieces but they lost both of their key pass rushers. I can’t wait for kickoff.

Then on Monday night the Washington Redskins play the Philly Eagles. We shall see RG3 can live up to the hype. I personally the Eagles new Offense will struggle at first but it will be very interesting.

I am just happy to see both of my favorite teams playing because I am usually working.

Best time of year. Football is the real sport. Still mot too sure abkut the tursday night games.i think its too much football during the week. Im not a fan of doing it that way…as for the list of games…it really is takeing off where we left off…kinda cool. It will be interesting with the new line ups to see how this goes

Go Pats!

Love football. Watch every Saturday.

Can’t stand that American game though.

Lol. I too was about to profess my love for Tottenham and how we “sold Elvis to buy the Beatles” (source unknown).

I follow nfl from a distance. Go Tebow lol.

^^^^LOL

go COWBOYS!!!

This thread will be awesome. And yes, I am ready - Go Bears!!

What’s this? It’s not football. ;D

Redskins fan here as well. Most excited I’ve been about the 'skins in 20 years - I can only imagine the hype in the DC-Metro area. Probably some boneheads predicted they will go undefeated.

Given that RGIII did not play a snap all pre-season, we’ll see how much rust he has Monday night…

BTW - missed the game last night… but 7 TD’s for Manning? He just served notice to the rest of the league. Wow.

It’s gonna be a good game Sunday night against my Giants.

There are currently predictions from many in the DC area that the Skins will make it to the Super Bowl this year and that RG3 will dominate the field…

…the only thing dominating in DC is how Dan Snyder is marketing and branding RG3 to the fullest extent possible. One good hit to that knee and RG3 nation will go “OmG, his knee!”

Shinnangians doesn’t run that offense, we all know its Bruce Allen that does the string pulling for Dannyz

+1!

Once I was able to run 4.4 40s and stronger than most all NFL players around 5’11" I lost hat respect I had for the game.

There is little skill involved…run, hit, catch. Good QBs are the exception.

Really? Can’t tell if joking. If not…

To me it looks like you need to be good time choreographing and timing runs as well as strong and fast to be a receiver. The good runners from half/full back seem to need an immense amount of skill in terms of footwork and reading lines, much like the 3/4 line in rugby union.

I knew the Canadians would chime in with soccer comments.

As Slow4 mentioned Dan Snyder is pimping RG3 as much as possible but it should be a good show. The Redskins had a great run last year to get into the playoffs so the expectations are high justifiably. Plus they are getting a few weapons back on Defense too.

Once the pass to Wes Welker that hit the ground wasn’t challenged, the game went to shit. I have to say that the Denver tight end Thomas is a monster! Then the Broncos linebacker that dropped the football at the one yard line after picking off Flacco deserves the bonehead of the year award. The Ravens had so many stupid mistakes in that game like a blocked punt, Ravens players taking out other Ravens players, and stupid penalties.

Any of you guys on fantasy leagues? We have one going at my work - can’t wait to get things started this Sunday.

I am; two work leagues, one being a big money PPR league.

Peyton Manning gave me 65pts in my PPR league and 38 in my regular league. I picked up Dallas Clark off the waiver wire; apparently Gronk is still injured (I thought Gronk was healthy). If Clark had not dropped that simple pass from Flacco, I would’ve gotten 14pts off of him but I settled for 8.

I’ll post my team up if I can.

I think Julius Thomas is going to have a good year this year and I hope Manning takes advantage of the ground game. I have Montee Ball as one of my benched RBs.

The game changer was Dallas Clark’s dropped TD; after that play, things went downhill for Baltimore. I’ll say it again and I’ll stick to it, people shouldn’t overlook that Denver D, it’s completely underrated.

Right, agreed much practiced is needed, however it’s still just running, hitting, catching. Anyone can develop these traits through hard work. But when you add a ball into the mix…basketball, tennis, real football, cricket, hockey is when talent and skill are factored into the mix!

Love the college game, too!

Big early season, end of an era rivalry tonight. Michigan v ND. GO BLUE!

Anybody see the games earlier today?

I saw the beginning of the 49ers and Packers. Up to where Clay Matthews went flying into Colin Kapernick as he stepped out of bounds. There was a good little fight too.

The Giants turnoverfest on now is fun to watch! But Cruz just got to salsa dance in the end zone a second time.
