How are you supposed to fine tune things? There’s zero chance of a perfect tune out of the box on different hardware. Zero.

Unfortunately, that’s the only way us B8 S4 guys have been able to get a tune. It’s frustrating no doubt, but worth it.

What’s the difference? If you’re doing half a dozen revisions for someone maybe you need to find a new business model. That doesn’t work. If you tune on the side, for a hobby, that’s fine and your multi revision system may work since there’s no business case to be made for what is a horribly iinefficientficient system. I mean who does this revision system in b5 land? Vast? Bankrupt. Jfonz? A startup and even he is cutting back on the revision shit. One might even say that if you’re doing loads of revisions, maybe you aren’t doing it right lol.

However if you’re tuning some customers car who is 3000 miles away and the customer keeps begging you to tune their car, what the fuck do you expect jhm to do? Fly in and dyno tune it so he can win a dyno contest?

Further if it is encrypted and the company he is begging to tune his car is 3000 miles away, and the company who encrypted his ecu is now bankrupt (vast) , should he send smoke signals and pray that the tuning gods miraculously make it tuned?

Do B5 ECUs even have an immobilizer? I thought not, so why didn’t the baller buy an extra ECU and just get that tuned while he got mad kills in motor city…

See here’s the thing, unless you are flashing a tune for the exact, and I mean exact, same hardware that you already have a tune for it’s never going to be spot on out the box perfect. Doesn’t matter who you are it’s just not going to happen.
And even with the same hardware a few percentage points change in flow here or there is enough to either break something or hurt performance.
Revisions = a smooth dialed in tune.

Not needed, I can switch between 4 totally separate setups for timing and fuel on the fly using the cruise control set button. It works great.
