Whenever my car’s in the shop, I go through withdrawal symptoms. Not very healthy…
Anyone else have the same issue?
Oh yeah. I have dreams about my car when its in the shop…seriously. My fellow employees tell me I’m a grumpass as well…haha
I have such symptoms also.
Absolutely. I’m at my worst when my car is in the shop, and I’m driving a different car as I’ll spend the entire drive complaining about every aspect of that car.
The only time this didn’t happen was when I was given a 500whp b5s4 as a “courtesy car”
Huh? Care to elaborate on that? hehe I realize you wrote courtesy in quotes but some back story would be cool

Took my car in for control arms and coilovers at a performance oriented euro shop I like to deal with. I sent an email the day before joking about them not having a courtesy car. I came the next day, expecting to take the bus back but they gave me the keys to a b5s4. I think it had gt28’s? They are putting tial 770s in it now… Anyways like I said, only time I’ve enjoyed not having my car 
I have been grumpy for a year and a bit now, I think about my car everyday. I like to sit in it and remember the good times as it hides under a car cover.

Funny you should ask, the shop has a turn you take to leave then there’s a pretty long stretch of road in either direction. Leaving in the b5 was quite scary and exhilerating… Taking the turn in my car and flooring it… quite mediocre.
My car is in the shop right now. I thought I was going to have it back mid Jan., super frustrated! Getting a JHM SC, FI catless exhaust only thing keeping me sane. Driving my truck right now, Silverado SS Intimidator ed. Great truck, but I want my AUDI back!!!

Count said that mine 100% different to some of the others that they have seen and threw up some road blocks
^ I don’t believe saki was referencing yours. It does seem the ecu’s outside of north America do offer some slight differences though. But it’s SHOCKING how many different revisions there are in just the B6/7 model years. I’m a"K" box and am 2005.5, and it keeps changing right until the end of production. But some customer ecu’s have presented problems due to other encrypted tunes being installed first, and those needing to be removed in order for JHM’s chip to be installed.
I’d be curious if with a “flash” style, if it would eliminate any of the revision headache stuff. I would suppose not, just wondering. The “piggy-back” style that isn’t nearly as efficient as a true flash or chip has the luxury of revisions really not mattering (speaking towards BMW etc as piggyback isn’t too prevelant in audi’s)
Yeah I didn’t think he was, but it was interesting as Count was having difficulties with mine and took him a bit longer to write the tune. Mine would also have been the one of the earliest version of the B6 computer that JHM would have seen as well.
It is amazing at how many different revisions are around on the same model of car though.
How is it that the RS4 can get away with a flash and doesn’t need a chip?

I guess now I am just waiting on my FI exhaust. I do have the same 05.5 as Maddog, I’m not aware of any current issue with the ECU that could be potentially holding me up.
I am stuck in Key West until the end of the month and my car is in St Louis. Talk about withdrawal. And dichotomies.
