Figure this would be a good place for my “build” thread as you guys would appreciate it a little more. So here we go and enjoy
I’ve been modding my car for a little while with some up and down additions, but thanks to AZ I have been on the better side of them now. With JHM steping into the 3.0 world and making something of our cars I can now put some supporting engine mods along with the rest of my car. So I’ve decided to make a thread that will cover all my upcoming mods, mainly JHM material with some upgrades that I will be making along the way. It isnt going to be a BAT build or anything along those lines. Just making an informative thread and showing my upgrades along the way along with some "reviews"and my opinions about them. I have some cosmetic things to take care of on top of everything else also.
I dont have a money growing tree so mods will come as money permits, not as much as you or I want but they will come. I am wanting to have the car ready by November, which is Fixxfest

As some of you know I had my problems with bleeding. I spent hours apon hours bleeding and could not see the finish line. I ended up taking it to a shop and had them do a new flush and bleed. As I have heard, the Lucas hp2 calipers are hard to fit a lot of wheels. I thought my Q5’s would have no issues…If I wouldnt have had 10mm spacers up front I would have been royally f*cked. 8mm Wouldn’t have worked.
So after all the b.s. they are finally on, so far so good, and I love the upgrade.
ECU Tune : I just shipped off the ECU today and sold my old brakes to a fellow AZ member to free up some funds. The tuned ecu should be back next week. I will post a video of before and after power wise for comparison. Can’t wait to get this bad boy back.

Update 1 Installed JHM Tuned ECU.So after much anticipation…Its here!!
My ECU came today and I can say, I am in awe. JHM you guys stepped up, big.
I drove around for a few miles letting the new tune adapt to the car even though a few times I had the opportunity came to stomp on it I backed off…Luckily for me as one of those times there was a speed trap, and another there was a cop in the oncoming lane. After I got into some back roads with a little bit of room I let her breath… What a breath she took. The car took off, the pull felt amazing, the car reacted to what I wanted. A nice full, torquey feel. The car really woke up.
From a dead stop, and I only have one full pull, the car hooks up and pulls A LOT better than stock.
This tune is unlike any other tune any other company has attemped.
I really cant find the words for it all. For all of you 3.0 guys, you know what it is like to drive your car. JHM just gave you the hook up. I feel that this is the single best mod I have done on my car yet. The price for what you get is outstanding. I am still in awe over it.

**A little update on the tune as I’ve had it for a few days is that you really notice it when you are least expecting it. Meaning before, when you give the car a little gas to get up to speed there is a lag and the car slowly gets up to speed. Also, when you do go half throttle or a little more lets say, in 3rd gear at about eh 2300 rpms, in order for the car to actually pic up and you feel the torque, the car would downshift and thats when you feel the power. Us TIP guys would feel that. Now, when you are in the same situation, you feel a smooth power that picks up nicely and the car doesnt jerk, and the lag is no longer there. There is power when you want it, and need it. I’m not saying the car is a monster power machine there, BUT the car is so much more fun to drive. I love it just as much as the first drive after install. Still surprises me every time I am behind the wheel…

JHM Tuned TCU
Unbelievable.
As far as the ECU guys I did expect some more power but not as much as I revieved. The ECU blew me away and I couldnt keep a smile off my face… For the TCU I expected quicker shifts and slightly greater acceleration…
Well, I am blown away, again. This is the complete package for auto guys. The ECU changed the car completely, gave it more power and you almost ask, what else could I ask for? The TCU tune is your answer. I really cant describe how it is. The shifts are so quick, and powerful it really makes you grin from ear to ear when you step on it. I NEVER thought the car could pull like this and shift the way it is right now. The videos they have of the rs4 and s4 tuned TCU’s give you an idea, but until you sit in the drivers seat and step on that pedal for yourself, you do not know what you were missing.
On that note, the ECU really woke up the car and felt the only thing holding you back was the long, momentum shifting shifts. BUT the car still was quick. I drove for about an hour yesterday with my girl and our new pup in the car and I could feel the car working together, just from a DD standpoint. It was great, but when I headed out, by myself. I let the car stretch her legs a little bit. The car pulls so damn hard, so much sooner than you expect it to.
I mean, without the TCU tuned before. You hit the gas, you feel the car down shift, you feel the power coming and carries you through the rpms until you/ it shifts. Then it almost restarts as the car takes a long, slow shift to lower rpms where the car then begins to pull after a “lay off” period. When you step on the gas, you get an instant surge of power. The car pulls so hard. When you carry through the rpms and hit the shifting point, the car “pops” into the next gear. There is no lay off what so ever. There is no power loss in between shifts, it is amazing.
The first thing I noticed is when I was driving normally, the downshifts. They are SO improved over stock. The car rev matches so much better which brings that power right to you. Before when you are in lets say 4th, you go to overtake a car, downshift into 3rd, car shhhiiiifftttsss and then kind of hickups into lower gear, sending you up and then back into your seat. Again, no lay off. You downshift, it immediatly shoots you into the back of your seat with heavy throttle.
Quick story, before the tune my little brother would ride with me and take him on a couple little runs and I would say, feel the car pull you into the seat… Hit the gas, start pulling, and out of being a smart ass. He would lean towards the air bag and he says “look I’m leaning forward its so slow” lmao but kind of true. Didnt take him out with the ECU but I took him for a 10 minute drive with both TCU and ECU. HAHA I got the last laugh, I asked him if he feels anything this time… WOOOTTTT his face turned kind of =0 and I went thru a few gears and came out to a red light. Looed over and asked, “how was that” he looked bakc like damn, its fast now. Launchedwhen it turned green and he about shit himself.
My tune review for this one is. You have to be knocked out to not notice the difference.
If you have an autobot, you need this tune.
If the ECU got you excited, pair it together with this and it will blow your mind.
ECU = Foreplay
TCU = Foreplay
ECU + TCU = Pure sex.
Update 11/26/2011
So I havent updated in a minute so I have a lot to cover. First off is the body work, finally nutted up the money to get it done so I could be looking clean for fixxfest. Took a week and got to beat up a rental Charger. Let me say how much I love all the little imperfections of my car over everything on that car. 2009 and my car still tops it in almost every category. They did a great job on the body work and I am very pleased with the outcome.
It was the right rear fender, and as you can see here. Butter

So the day after I got the car back I proceeded to install the intake mani spacers and THOUGHT I was going to be painting the manifold. Boy was I wrong. So I spend hours upon hours in the garage and finally get everything the way I “thought” it should be. Crank up the car and it is running like a German Panzer. Idle was shit. Drove like shit. Sounded like shit. Basically, it was shit. Tore apart the car again and had no luck. It was my birthday and I went out and got shitfaced and decided to work on it the next day.
Woke up early, hungover mind you, and proceded to wrench again. I ended up having a massive vacuum leak and replaced all the vacuum hoses. Finally got done around 4 oclock and had some time for a little detailing.
This was my first time at Fixxfest and I am already looking forward to next year. Rode out with a few from AZ and made the trek to Tampa. Tons of cars and an open ¼ was pretty fun, though I ended up having another leak but not as sevear.
A few good and bad pics lol

Intake Spacers.
It isnt clear to me that I saw a noticable bump in power as I had a vacuum leak for a little while. After I got them installed and replaced my hoses the car did run a lot better. Pulled harder out of the gate and felt stronger, but that could be because of new lines and the spacers. The temp on the manifold is however noticably cooler. Cool enough to the touch that you can tell a difference and can rest your hand on it. With the new hoses and the intake spacers it feels like another bolt on so I am pleased. For $100 you cant go wrong with them.
