Just thought I would share this incase anyone else had this issue as this is by far the best thing I’ve ever bought for my car, I’m so sick of using CD’s its unbelievable. If anyone else needs larger cards I’ve confirmed that these 4GB Topram non SDSC cards work. They were only 10$ each on Amazon and came in just a few days. I know 8GB isn’t much but its better than CD’s and will do until I add the Aux input so I can use Pandora.
Been awhile, not much has happened with her other than a busted upper rad hose pissed coolant everywhere…And my front brakes came due and with so much shit going on no matter how much I wanted I just didn’t have 3k+ to drop on JHM BBK all around, another 8lbs rotational mass off would of been nice. Oh, well maybe down the road.
So my valve covers are coming off for a leaky gasket and I am going to paint them again but not sure what color to go with I don’t really like the black, I don’t not like it, I just think it could be better. Any ideas? I was thinking maybe try to get RS4 look. I tried to get a paint code but didn’t have any luck. I think they are just wrinkle red? not sure what shade exactly. The one draw back I see to wrinkle red is that it won’t have clear coat for protection and easier cleaning. I really need to get this right because the body shop charges 180$ to paint them the first time and this is the second time and I can’t afford a 3rd I hate it enough that I’m doing it twice.
Other than that I have some 3m Di Noc wrap I was thinking I would maybe look good with RS4 red covers? Replicating the driver side engine cover and also the top and bottom middle covers with the Audi rings at the top and the V6 3.0 on the bottom. I would still want the silver emblem and logo to show, not sure if that would be lame to try to replicate that. I was going to use it for the interior wood trim but I think a ultra suede would be better. Any suggestions are much appreciated. TIA

Well, its about time I finally decided to ditch my old man wood trim. And I can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner. Originally I purchased the 3m Di-Noc CF wrap to follow the DIY like B6S4Joe did here,

but I ended up deciding to go with black suede. I’m really glad I did because I think it turned out great. And now I’m thinking of maybe using the CF wrap to kinda do a mock CF engine covers like the RS4 engine has for the side cover and top and bottom engine covers with the Audi Rings and 3.0 V6 piece. Opinions on this idea are much appreciated. TIA

It was pretty easy to do and supplies were cheap but being so OCD it took quite some time and the corners were very time consuming, thankfully I had a local Audi friend that helps me do everything now in a nice warm garage The only thing I need to do now is replace my peeling buttons because they show now more than ever. Sorry for the shotty pictures it was snowing outside so since everything was so bright it made my shots turn out even worse with my phone camera.

I know I haven’t been doing much mostly because I really like where the car is. Its a great daily with all the JHM mods coming together, after having them all now for a bit now I really like where the car is at. I think the suspension is a bit soft for the performance it has so maybe an RS4 sway bar will come in soon and I’m not sure on suspension yet. I may have a opportunity to get into something else that would be better than an A4 so I can’t believe I’m thinking about it but I may part with her and step into something else I want. But until then I’m going to do a few more things. The glove box I bought ended up finally being the right color but it didn’t have the CD changer slot for the pod dock I bought. So I have that for sale if anyone’s interested. And I really like how the lights turned out, They still don’t match exactly as they could if I would of went with stock bulbs but the Osrams I think have more tint to them. the Hoens have a small blue tint but when compared to the headlight they look white IMO. It would be cool to have the stock bulbs to match the fogs better but I really like the Osrams, the light is so clean and pure with good output much better than my stock bulbs which didn’t work as good as OEM should IMO. Anyways here’s some pictures…

So what are you ditching the A4 for?
I’m not sure yet, it will definitely be something the Audi family, I’ll probably drive Audi for the rest of my life. And this is all speculation if i can get close to what I want for mine. With all the particular work I’ve done I expect to get 04/05 3.0 USP pricing for it. not 02 3.0 so If someone isn’t willing to give me north of 10 I haven’t quite decided on exact price yet we’ll see its going to be a a few weeks probably until I can list her if I even do it seems like I am likely to. But things can change but I am crossing my fingers because I would love a clean B7 S4 or maybe something else who knows. I’m not for sure on how much money I’ll have to play with yet. When that narrows down I’ll start getting idea at my options. I don’t EVER EVER finance a car, i pay cash only and walk away with the title right then, that’s the only way I buy cars. I just picked up a ES300 for my lady which gives me the option to wait after mine sells for that special and right Audi to come along at the price and exact color and options I want. Color is a huge thing for me because I really firmly believe it makes a car so much better when its the color said car looks best in. If I can I’d like to sell the ES300 and get B5 A4 1.8t. I only got it because the car was offered by a friend for a good deal. Ideally I’d like a B5 1.8t to be my daily and then something faster and fully loaded top of the line model like an S or something for my less driven weekend and when i feel like driving it type car.

Got her back from the Body shop needs to go back because they scratched my bra and owe me a new one and couple other things they need to touch up, I accidentally dented the passenger fender very lightly didn’t even mess up alignment. But with my clear bra getting messed up and doing some other things finally fixing glove box and installing my shark fin, Here is a couple pics when she got out, and then I went into summer mode a few days later. Let me just say that if your running 19"s Pirelli PZero Audi R01 max summer tires are HANDS DOWN the BEST tire EVER!! They are so smooth and quiet, and grip like hell, it feels like I modified my stock suspension, they sit 10.1" wide. And look better than any other I’ve had on and ride the best even in the rain they don’t hydroplane at all and that was even in a test of 1st rain in many months so the road had a shit ton of oil on it. Anyways here are some pics I’ll get some better ones of the sharkfin, I mounted it EXACTLY where it comes from the factory 8" from the rear window. I can’t bring myself to list her for sale so I’m going to do a few more things to her. If I can get the Lexus sold I’ll pick up either a B5 S4 or a Lexus IS300 and continue to dump money into the 3.0.

-Forgot I needed to finish removing intake silencer and cap off and remove SAI, Going to have body shop professionally seal the black plastic they make a flush plastic mold as they did my air box so its clean and looks unmodified.

I almost hate to say it but… The Lexus Is300 is worlds better then a B5. Everything from maintenance to performance and from interior to exterior. Especially if you’re buying used.

I decided I couldn’t cheap out and get the Koni’s after finding these babies I had to buy them, I am so stoaked they are being shipped today, fingers crossed they are as they were described which was BRAND NEW!..
