You know what those USP’s are played out and will look shit. I will take them off you for $100.
^fixed, no tires included. lol
Well, here they are. I’ve been waiting for a long time to see how 18" USP’s would sit on 02 Sport Suspension and I think it sits just right. Could use some tire shine but I’ll save that for when I wash her.

I wasn’t being negative about them. Just stating FACT about them in my area.
Every jacktard around here has tried them in every color and on lots of VW’s.
Again Saki having to start shit with something I post.
Grow the F up!
Sorry its been awhile I have a couple goodies in the works but didn’t want to spoil anything because nothings for sure yet. Before I can do anything I have to sell this CM kit so I’ll save the goodies for later if they come to pass. But for now I finally decided to debadge her, so here she is…

Replaced my Auxilary Alarm Module (siren), turned out the new replacement ones do not fit the bracket that is used on the factory so I had to drill out the hole in the bracket slightly but other than that it was a pretty easy install. Now the signal is stronger all around the car from a slightly further distance than before but still its not as good as it could be so I suspect that when i get the B7 keys programed for the locks they will help to add more distance.
Edit- Would also like to add that you must reuse the bracket unless you want to be ghetto and have the module sitting loosely behind the trunk side panel which would be lame and likely cause it to break bouncing around. The panel will not close if you just bolt the module to the hole without the bracket, the bracket allows the module to seat lower than the side panel allowing it to close properly.

As you can see the back of the old module has a lip and the bolt size is smaller than the new module.

So I just drilled the hole out a little till it slid over nice and snug on the new module, bought a nut from hardware store, I don’t recall the size but its not hard to find.

After some rough idling recently I finally got a CEL and it was misfiring on #5 so I swapped it with 6 and the code dissapeared. I thought okay, so something was just loose and when i reassmbled it was tight again. But then the car starts to have engine vibrations like its misfiring but still no CEL. So I go back and change #6 thinking it was a coil pack going bad. And I find oil under the coil packs on the VC. I have a new VC gasket so i’m confused why this would happen, maybe it didn’t get sealed properly? There was oil there when I swapped them the first time and I cleaned it thinking something just got spilled but now its back. Any ideas?
In other news, got my clutch returned so I think I might be heading to JHM to get my tune coded this weekor next. I just need to get my new ECU box ordered and I"ll be ready to go. I can’t wait, i’m ready to give this car some go. Its been a long time getting the supporting mods and maintenence ready. Its been 5000 miles since my last giant service and shes run great every mile so I think its time for some performance mods.

So, I’m trying to get things in order for my drive to Lathrop and I have a kinda odd question… Does anyone know if the ECU in the picture JHM uses is that a generic ECU photo or do they actually remove the sticker paint it and put on their own? I wanted to do mine like that before going or ask JHM to if thats what they do but I wasn’t sure if it was a good idea or not.

They put a jhm logo on mine
I think it’s so the next owner doesn’t go to giac and have them accidentally write their file on top of the jhm ecu file.
Lol…exactly what I would worry about…the casing of my ECU saying JHM
My bad, I wasn’t very clear. I was specifically trying to ask if the one in the JHM photo has been painted before putting the sticker on. Becasue it looks to me like they did. So I was considering taking the stickers off mine and making it look like the one in JHM photo, but I wans’t sure if that was a good idea or not.
I’m not sure, but some of the info on the sticker may be needed.
This is completely different, but for my F150 the tuning company needed a specific “strategy” code off the sticker of the ECU.
- FINALLY! I am tuned! Had a great drive down, she drove perfect the entire time. With my shifter adjusted it feels soo much better. Much more precise and feels so proper. So far I love the tune and will post a short review later. My initial reaction is the motor is smoother, power 'has increased significantly and is smooth all throughout and is significantly more responsive. Big Thanks to JHM! I am always more than satisfied with every product I have bought.
Aero Wiper kit installed now that winter is over. Not sure what to say about them, they are wipers and they work really good, and are very over priced. Also, now that I have a working laptop again for VCDs I was able to finally program my B7 keys for the door locks, Which is cool cuz I was so tired of using 2 keys to unlock and start the car. And I really was convinced that with a brand new auxiliary alarm control module I would have more distance. But I can’t say that I do. The siren is definitly louder after replacing it. But all in all the B7 key fob upgrade is worth it.

Finally got my wheels back from the dealer, now I have a full set of 5 BBS CH’s mounted on Pirelli pzero Audi R01 235/35/19 91Y tires. The dealer damaged 2 and replaced them for me and let me keep the old 2 as well which are still of good use. It only took me like 6 months but I finally got them. Originally they were going to give me a free/ very cheap transmission rebuild if I supplied the kit but after my clutch adjustment I opted for my wheels being replaced which worked out great. Snapped a few pics of them, with the ECS tuning valveless valve stems. They worked out pretty cool I think. I just need to get them down to Big O tires which is the only place here in town which has Nitrogen, being at high altitude and drastic temp changes I’ve always used Nitrogen as from what I was told it allows for less change in tire pressure when the temp changes.
My starter died today :-… but anyways I decided while being parked for a minute while I wait to get her in the shop I decided I would install my RNS-E. And I have a few questions I am hoping to get some answers to… First off, the unit sounds like there’s a small fan or something on and the car is off. I am worried since my starter is dead the unit is drawing from the battery which is brand new and I don’t want to get drained to the point of damage. And, why didn’t the unit generate a code??? It just let me use it. Is that Weird? Or am I missing some info? On the bright side, I found a genuine map disc in it, which the auction on ebay said it didn’t come with.
Rsn e is a awesome upgrade.
The noise might be a fan…I dont hear it on mine…it could also be the hard drive… my unit sounds the same sometimes when the car is off. Some cars get a batt drain due to the rsn e units staying on or coming on by thrmselves… mite want to keep an eye on that.
The unit you got was probably unlocked and pinned unlocked. Some peole who get these units second hand do that. There is a chance thats what the deal is with your unit
Could the sound be the disk in the unit spinning? If you turn it off, do you still get the noise? What if you take all the disks out (can it hold more than one?)?
I think some of the euro guys who installed rnse2010+ noticed that fan noise or something. Google it.
It only holds one disc. I am pretty sure it was the hard drive and it eventually turned off because it wasn’t on the next morning. I wonder how long it stayed on for.
Edit- Also, I would not recommend the Kuftec harness, it was POS quality, all the wires were grey. It wouldn’t even plug into the back of the unit. Luckily somehow I did have the right one that came with it that has way more pins connected than are coming from the car. So I think its equipped for other things like cd changer and not sure what else there are 2 empty connectors.
