2002 3.0 6MT Build

Yes its very frustrating, but I probably shouldn’t complain because the guy did everything I wanted to the T, and for having my car a few days longer than planned he went back in and played with the estimate and was able to bring it down like 700$.

Thats a good question actually, maybe someone could help me answer it???
I actually bought the spoiler on ebay cuz it came painted to match and i was just going to throw it on as is. But then once i decided to do USP i waited and chose to repaint it so it had a higher quality paint on it because who knows what was used.
This is the only pic I have, sorry its not very good and its showing the wrong side you would want to see. The lip is not very big tho. The only spoiler I can relate it to is the 00’ and up body style of M3 used a spoiler like this I think.

Looking GREAT!
Hang in there, sorry to hear of the scheduling issues at the shop - frustrating for sure!

second that. Im mad because this is such a great job that you littterly want to see this happen much quicker

A43zero6spd great build again man great stuff I really like your style

Thanks Shawn and Rob!

Yea it really messes with my other plans because that 1 shop made me have to cancel like 3 other appointments I have; clear bra, CEL, and my shifter, which are all at different shops. Oh well, shit happens

Just dropped her off for another attempt to get the spoiler on, shes due back tommorrow so we’ll see what happens. I hope everything goes smooth so I can do the clear bra friday and then FINALLY get my JHM shifter and linkages installed!

I hope it goes smoothly for you…

So I got her back from the body shop today, and she looks great! I can’t post pics because there is no reason to since you probably can’t see the differences in a picture from the color sand and buff.

The bad news is I still don’t have a spoiler and that was the only part I really was looking forward to. The shop lost mine so they are ordering a new one from the dealer which will arrive in 4 days. They also tossed the old parts when I asked them to save them but, they said they would replace them so that’s cool.
So it looks like I need to be a little bit patient, and wait for my parts

Just dropped her off for a Clear bra, and tint/

Venture Shield Clear Bra:
-Complete Front Bumper
-Partial Hood and fenders
-Side mirrors
-Side Skirts and Door Blades
-Lower rear bumper behind tires
-headlights and fogs were sanded and covered as well
-door handles (not sure why they do this when you have key less but it was part of kit so its cool)
-behind the chrome trim on the rear bumper they also add a peice there as well for when loading things into the trunk it does not get scraped.

Since I am out of $ from all the body work I did I am just focusing on the main areas, otherwise I would do the entire front end. But this place had a good price and does a standard kit for $650 but I added in the side skirts and door blades, so its running 850 plus the engine and interior detail.

Also, further research of the spoiler issue I have found that the OEM spoiler is the best way to go because it not only has the double sided tape but has 3 little metal screw things as well which is what creates the flush appearance that some aftermarkets simply do not do. So for anyone who needs a spoiler I reccomend going with OEM if you can afford it. Lucky for me the body shop lost mine which is what made me discover the differences and I’m glad they did because OEM is the way to go, plus I basically get a free spoiler

UPDATE
Picked her up a few hours ago and she looks great! the clear bra really adds to the shinyness, makes it literally look like there is a thick clear coat on the front. I also decided to tint my front windows to match the rears which are 20% so I did that as well which I am very happy with the results.

Wow!! Nice job. When ever I hear carbra all I think of are those horrible black things. But that’s cool

Thanks Lout! Yea those black ones were pretty bad.

Car is looking good, congrats on gettng her back.

Thanks Lout Jnr! Its great to have her back with some relief she will not be blasted by the sand around here and ruin the fresh paint.

while looking at my pictures I noticed above the passenger headlight the hood looks like it does not line up with the corner of the fender, can anyone else see that?

Now that you mention it. From your front pic. It looks like the hood is dropped in relation to the fender on that side. There should a rubber cylinder which can be wound out to adjust the bonnet height. You’ll have to give me 1/2 a day and I’ll try and snap a pic of what I’m talking about

The other things to check are your panel gaps between the fender and the bonnet and also does the back edge of the bonnet line up properly

So, now that I’m home from work I’ve scammed some pics of my brothers A4.

Without pics it’s hard to explain what your looking for…

Wide angle shot of the front of the bonnet.

Close in shot of the adjuster. It’s rubber and just winds in and out.

Thanks Lout! I’ll check that out right now…

lout to the rescue.

I would be willing to bet that is causeing the hood. Also there is a little recievbing piece on the inner fender as well. Ill have to check when I get home

Just got news today that my spoiler came in! And since the body shop is having to replace my old parts they threw out I talked the guy in to painting the roof and passenger rear door instead of buying me replacement parts! I origionally was going to take the old non-usp upper and buy a lower USP and do the DIY modification, prep it for paint and sell it. But I like this plan better

MAF is bad. Injector #5 is bad… about 8 codes coming up cuz of this. Not sure what to do cuz I’m beyond broke from all my body work. My only idea was maybe I could clean the MAF??

I was told for injectors you can usually just pay $25 to have them serviced
