2012 Audi RS4

I am not really a fan of the sportback styling, the shape of the roof where the rear passengers are runi it for me.

I was wrong on the S5 SB weight…

EDIT*************************

UK Weights. US weights are generally higher apparently. US Site has no info on SB models.

B8 S4 Saloon weight: 1705kg --> 3759lbs
B8 S4 Avant weight: 1750kg --> 3858lbs

So, bigger cars and pretty much the same weight as our B6/B7s. Mmmmmmmmmm I like that!

The B8 S4 weighs 3950-4050. Those weights you listed for it are Euro weights which are stripped out cars with no power windows and cloth seats.

I give up :-\

you’re on the right track lol…it’s just the B8 S4 numbers Audi quoted for us here are a lie. Audi posts the Europe numbers, but we can’t get a base model S4 like Europe can…ours all are pretty loaded.

The S5 on the other hand is pretty spot on. Road and Track weighed their test car at 3795.

The RS4 they most recently tested in June 2008 weighed in at a portly 3920…which corresponds with what I’ve found weighing my own car. FatFucks. Interestingly the Euro Rs4 weighed like 3750 because they have some crazy light non-power seats, and roll up windows, no sunroof. Over here, they came pretty loaded for the most part, and all weigh around 3900. The odd one is sunroof delete, no premium package, and they’re like 3850.

I see. Thanks Saki.

So no sunroof, no power seats, and roll up windows. Do they call that the 91gl package?

;D

here’s the real widebody B8

allroad

I’m tempted to grab one, as they’re coming here in the summer (Canada…not sure about America). Would love one with a 2.0 tdi

^so besides wheels, tint and maybe a drop thats stock?

painted fenders (vs. all road plasticsauce)

That’s really a killer car, and a tdi would be great in it.

i still havent ruled out the conversion and with the wheels im going with, this would all look supremely killer

that looks like a pre-refresh car on second glance

I guess that’s good for you richi. Think you’d need a new bumper? Or just the fenders?

If you want a wideboy, just get a B7 RS4, then JHM Supercharge it for 500 whp…and if you bitch about the stereo again I’m going to be supremely disappointed :smiley:

actually just get an RS5 sportback…widebody + 4.2 FSI + new tech + JHM Vortech V3 kit = big smiles

id be able to use everything but the front bumper, which i would have the bottom portion of the flares molded to my s4 bumper. only way id ever switch back to the 4.2 is if we had the rs5 sportback… that car is ALMOST full of win. only thing that would 100% stop me is the lazy man gear box… i NEED a manual gear box. ill sit back and wait for my r1650 ;D

r1650 is going to be a bitch stage III upgrade for you guys. It’s going to be like stage 2.5. You guys need a 1900 in there to get nuts.

1650 is not going to make you 500 whp on pump gas. Maybe 450 if you’re fully modded. That’s awesome, but you’ll be spending a fortune for maybe 60 whp over a maxed out 1320. Doesn’t make sense?

When you think about it, reasonably ‘pushed’ TVS1320 cars are making what…375whp with exhaust + cats + intakes + catback…and race gas. What’s left? I know GIAC posted a commercial that said 400+ whp on 91. I also know APR’s hub dyno showed them at 408 on their fully modded stage II 2.0. I’m talking normal guy on a tough mustang dyno…what are we looking at from the B8 like Stephen’s car…375? Maybe inching up to 400whp on the strongest cars (and just as much torque of course). The 1650 is likely going to deliver an extra 125-150 CFM…or another 85-100 crank hp which is what, 60-80 whp. Awesome…but that still leaves you in the 450 whp range.

Don’t get me wrong, the car will be retardedly succesful, but I think it would be interesting to see what would happen with a really big upgrade rather than inching up to the 1650. APR made this mistake with the TVS1320 in the RS4 kit. The blower is just too small for the application to really take advantage of the car’s potential. The car is awesome with it…but leaves about 75-100 whp on the table. Now you’re seeing JHM installing (currently) the Vortech blower on Dan’s RS4. That thing will be ridiculous. On top of this, another company has been posting some information that they’ll be using a TVS1900 and TVS2300 for the RS4. Who on earth is going to buy the APR TVS1320 kit after those are out? And why didn’t APR step up to the bigger blowers?

im just speculating as far as blower size goes, who knows what they have in house but considering they have one of the GM engineers from the cts-v program which used the 1900 who knows ;D

well a 1900 would be great. Now you’re talking. Picking up 100-150 whp is worthy of a stage III upgrade (although the market will have to evaluate the assured $12-15,000 pricetag)

yeah a 1900 would be a better choice imho as long as the motor can handle that much extra power, I wouldnt want to oversize out of the efficiecny range of the blower and into more parasitic draw though. So depending on how much the motor can handle there’ll be an ideal size.

thats an exceptionally good looking car then, I havent liken many B8 4 doors but that changes my mind

the avants look good.

the refresh will be nice to see. I really like the new headlights (I think I’m the only one though)
