I saw that too, great time. He did use 100 Octane race fuel and has the AWE Coldfront/Intake/Exhaust too which helps. I want to see a time with 93 octane with just intake or exhaust, not the $2000 coldfront system too. It does seem that the V2 is better than the V1, although someone else on there who has the V2 says he hates it and it doesn’t do a damn thing. (Spawn350)
He didn’t have an exhaust (at least from his sig). I don’t think any cooling systems on the B8 makes more power, just prevents it from losing power once the stock blower loop becomes overwhelmed. Which is a subtle but important distinction.
My bad about the exhaust, but the cooling system should help a lot since the 2014’s at least were having issues running very hot, especially with the tune. There are people on there who ran slower with the old GIAC Stage 2 compared to stock, so it seems at least like the V2 file addressed the heating issue.
I do like how Austin showed up and actually posted the link to the 1/4 mile run which was in a different topic. He was right on top of that one, but vanished for a month when people were complaining. Funny he never mentioned the car was running on race fuel and the 100 octane program when it ran that time too. Great time, but most people really care about 93 octane results and what they can do with it on the road in normal use.
Skywagon’s car had great IAT’s but ran with much less timing advance than expected. I agree that a cooling system helps, and am itching to get one myself. … but I wouldn’t write off the time because of the cooling upgrade. The race gas is another thing, but still, made it into 11’s. You have to remember the guys here with top times also have lots of experience along with other mods like testpipes, exhaust, BBK’s with lw rotors and lw wheels. Running an 11 second time on a 2014 is quite an achievement for GIAC, not sure how anyone goes apr given this data (amongst everything else).
Stock cars other than tune and pulley are typically running low to mid 12’s at best. The outliers are the AWE car, Rons car, and Auditudes. Which was an 11.9 I believe. These were all in extremely good DAs.
This car ran in almost 1000 DA. Stock exhaust, stock cooling, OEM wheels and tires.
I’m not saying it isn’t possible, just outside the curve.
