2014 B8.5 S4's...

Do you think one naca duct is enough? How about side vents in the fenders like an R8 and some brake vents like the RS cars have in the front fenders (see my avatar). Don’t stop short…use your aerodynamics skills to really make your car special.

p.s. APR didn’t sell you high RPM timing. APR sold you a set of parameters, all of which should increase the power your car makes.

1 . increased boost by closing the bleedoff - they did this succesfully
2. increased boost by running a smaller pulley to spin the blower faster - they did this succesfully
3. increased ignition timing over stock - they did this succesfully
4. leaner AFR than stock - they did this succesfully

Who on earth said that the tune only works at high RPMs? The tune is giving you better area under the curve from 1 RPM to 6200 RPM.

p.s. how long till someone has a larger crank pulley for the 13+ DSG S4 to spin the blower faster

Fair enough, but it boggles the mind that guys like skywagon drive 6 hours one way and stay in hotels multiple days just to have their car logged. And then they don’t even get copies of the logs or analyze themselves with excel. :o :o :o :o

The tuner shops that I’ve been to are terrible and disorganized…the techs don’t know shit about the software or these cars (granted I was APR flashed at what looked like an STi car show).

I logged and so did the shop. APR got all the info from both of us. Ron, and a couple of other folks have copies of my logs and will do more if requested. Thanks

Saki, then why is the car still so slow? Thanks

APR didn’t sell you ‘fast’ so why do you characterize it as slow as if it matters?

they sold you an ECU tune and a pulley to increase power/tq and make the car accelerate faster. They did so.

Is your car as fast as a 2011 with the same mods? nope. Your Audi transmission is taking care of that for you. Complain to Audi.

You keep acting like APR are trying to trick you. While that wouldn’t be hard, don’t you think that with locations on multiple continents, hundreds of employees, hundreds of thousands of square feet of business space, hundreds of dealer relationships on top of that…don’t you think that reputational risk might put them above trying to trick a few people for $1000?

Again…they sold you an ECU tune that improves power across the board and adjusts parameters. They did so, and it worked.

Anyway…HOW THE FUCK are you on a witchhunt for APR yet you give EuroCode a free pass? EuroCode guys and your buddies at NGP completely FUCKED you by selling you something that really doesn’t work and really is a fraud. EuroCode headers are a complete and utter crock of shit. And it’s double the cost of the APR tune and pulley that actually do work (but don’t work well enough to make you happy).

Yet you’re giving EuroCode a pass and are crusading against APR???

You really need to prioritize.

Saki, you do work for APR!. Who is NGP plus you can’t prove any of your accusations. I like the vents you have in your avatar. Thanks and take a deep breath.

Saki works for Saki Inc. and he calls out bullshit and dishonesty no matter who the vendor or company. If you did any small amount of searching, you would see that he has been very critical of APR in the past.

I have no idea, or care, what Saki Inc. is or does. I asked him if he worked for APR, he said “ask Arin”. He likes to give a little grief, then learn how to take it. What’s the problem?

I said “Ask Arin” as a joke.

Arin , Keith, Steven or anyone at APR will be the first to tell you I don’t work there or have anything to do with them. In fact, they at times might have been more likely to have accused me of working for their competitors because I have held APR’s feet to the fire on the forums a few times in the past.

I don’t think I have any trouble taking any grief. Have you been giving me any though? Haven’t noticed. Still waiting for you to post a faster time than my RS4.

Faster time than your RS4? Well, I don’t know what that time is but regardless, I’m trying to get into the high 11’s no matter what it takes! Just remember, half the fun is getting there…I think? Thanks.

Just messing with you. You’re the only stage b8 s4 I can beat!

12.51@110.5

Some day…maybe? ;D

You got me beat… My best was a 13.06 @106+ on 93 and 12.69@111+ on 100 (with APR stage 2).

I have two 2014 GIAC stage 2 cars lined up to go to the track with me on Sept. 5 for some logging. I think one has an ECU tune, and I know the other one does not. I’ll post results assuming everything works out.

I went ahead and ordered the AMS cooling kit, and should have it by then too. Hopefully, I’ll get some better results with it. I’ll do some logging on my car, but the priority is going to be getting a couple good logging passes on each GIAC car.

Nice! I am likewise slower at 12.75@107 :-[

Cool! Excited for you… Happy that I’ll actually get to see some real numbers from a user…

damn, I went 12.75 @ 108.36 when I was stock. IN great DA though. My 12.51 @ 110.5 was with JHM downpipes (with race cats) and JHM exhaust. No tune yet.

When you guys (skywriter included) go and run on a cold October day, your numbers will change quite a bit. Let’s see what you can do at 300 feet of DA on 93 or 94 (that’s what I had when I went 12.51). I reckon you guys will be a lot better then.

Yeah, my times have all been in 2500+ DA. No doubt that is a HUGE factor. I am hoping the new intake, AMS cooling system, and some lower DA’s will do the trick and at least get me into the 12.2-12.4 range. Unfortunately, it will not cool off here until mid-October at best. I’m targeting a couple dates in late October and early November to make a return trip to the strip.
