-2800 feet of DA at Island Dragway last night...

I asked FT on Instagram if he wants to meet at the track next week and he said he can’t go because of the holidays… If he has changed his mind I am down to meet him there and see the car run and get some runs in. Let me know.

Don’t bother. This little flea was kicking around here a year ago and ran his modified RS4 at the strip slower than my STOCK RS4. Then he started challenging everyone to race at the dragstrip for $1000

When like 5 guys accepted, he backed the fuck down and said he would only race me, in Canada…for $10,000…and only if I paid to ship his car up here.

We later saw him telling people that when he goes to the strip, he does 5 second burnouts. Clearly he was a lying retard who has no concept of actually running an AWD Audi because that’s literally IMPOSSIBLE. I have driven 550 whp Audis and a huge burnout would be 1 second. His RS4 might make 330 whp if he’s lucky.

Nobody is clowning anyone. I started a thread to discuss a great time for an RS4, however it should address people’s claims that the APR kit is easily good for 10s in ‘better DA with full exhaust’. Frankly I don’t think the conditions could have been any better for Flying Potatoes.

The JHM record was set with a customer’s car for what it’s worth, not the Blue shop car .

What did that customer run with his car? … And I told everyone over a year ago what weekend I would be at NJMP. I showed and no one else did. So spare me the dramatics. If he would like to PM me and setup a date I’m all for it. But just like last time, I expect no one to show. Every event I attend every year is always posted on a forum somewhere so there’s always an opportunity for takers. But as I said, PM me. Save this thread for relevant data for te discussion at hand.

…so would I, and I think we’d both be below your power/weight ratio and you’d have no chance. FWIW there are no “experts” on the drag strip here, just enthusiasts, save possibly the count (he was doing pro 5.0?). There’s even less road course experts here…just people who enjoy it…don’t overstate your expertise. A few of us would welcome people who are more track focused. Relax and stop coming here swinging.

I realise you’re a drag racing neophyte, but let me help you out.

  1. he cut a 1.74 60’ time, so traction was excellent. He was only 5 hundredths off what JHM did when they went 11.12, the pump gas record. 5 hundredths of 60’ = 5 hundredths of 1/4 mile ET. If you think JHM had great traction, and flying potatoes had terrible traction, you’re not reading properly. If Flying potato gun would maybe have had a 1.69 60’ time it would have translated to a time around 11.20 @ 125. Not a huge change.

  2. JHM ran in +300 to +600 feet of density altitude. Flying Potato Gun ran in -2800 or thereabouts. That’s a massive difference. Any AWD drag racer on earth would trade 5-10 hundredths of traction for a 3000 foot advantage in density.

We don’t have NLS software on this platform. The limiter at idle is a 2 step limiter.

PM me. I’m always up for getting some entertaining video.

Steve texted me after he went to the track and I have to say, the results are great for an independent test. He told me with a little more practice he believes he could get better results. This was his first time to island raceway, his first time drag racing an RS4 and his first time drag racing an AWD vehicle so kudos to him!

When I take my S4 out, I’m sure I’ll have to have a drive mod for better results. : )

No the fucking challenge was at the strip…you turned it into a fucking road course challenge. You were going to come race everyone…then everything changed. You were the cocky one, why should anyone else travel hundreds of miles to hear excuses. I would have ran you at the strip in a heart beat.

…and how he fuck do you even race at an HPDE? Or do you just compare times? I would like another man sitting shot gun and stroking my ego with his hand on my thigh though.

Yeah, nobody is questioning anything Steve ran. It’s a great time. The kit and tune are working well to produce acceleration. With launch control that’s even better to set the customer up for success. Two years ago, this time would have been revolutionary. Today it’s the third fastest pump gas RS4. Awesome, but I don’t get why people are defending the APR kit and driver as if it is under attack.

The thread was simply to address the claims that once an APR kitted car gets a real catback or better DA, it will be lights out. Well, one did, and it got the best possible conditions for making power, and he cut a great 60’ (the biggest obstacle)…and the car went 11.2 @ 125. To get into the 10s, he is going to need to powershift and cut a 1.55 60’. I don’t see it happening, but hey let’s see. Will be fun to watch.

Third fastest RS4 ET on pump gas
Third fastest RS4 MPH on pump gas
Second fastest customer RS4
Fastest owner driven RS4

Great!

Bottom line? Results like this show us that the APR blower is getting pretty much maxed out here. It’s pushing 15-16ish PSI of boost (we think…nobody will tell us) and the cars are running low 11s @ 125 on pump gas. To get more out of it, they need race gas. So it’s hitting a ceiling for a typical ‘street’ setup. The race gas stuff is nice for bragging to the B5 guys who also enjoy race gas ,but for a street time in full interior, street tire trim, low 11s @ 125 seems to be it.

Expand ur horizons, come to an event, and maybe you’ll learn a thing or two.

Exactly.

Primetime, Richib86, me, Euroswagr and a few others stepped up…then Lawrence Gibson bitched out and ould only race me if I was stock while he was modified (for $10,000+ lol)…and then he turned it into road race superstar day in New Fucking Jersey and claimed victory lol.

LOL! That’s right I forgot about this guy challenging everyone to a drag race… He dismissed my lowly S4 pretty quickly as a waste of time…

Daytona, I don’t think you were alluding to my post earlier, but you don’t need to worry about me taking my car to the strip as a customer and reporting results… But again I’m just a lowly S4 owner patiently waiting for this blower so I can install and make some passes… I gave props to the driver for some pretty good times especially now that I know it was his first time… My guess is he left a lot on the table with his staging, keeping the car straight, playing with tire air pressure, etc. but hey what would an S4 owner know… Again, props to him for taking the car out and testing… Did he post results somewhere? Any vids?

I agree, to be within 0.13sec and 2 mph better trap of the factory time (or within 0.06 and equal trap depending which run you look at) pretty much backs up the performance. You’d gotta think at some point tenths will be shaved from these ties when the kits get out there under more hoods.

FWIW, it’s nice to have a roots option for the platform, not to compare with the JHM option, but a c-fuge blower isn’t for everyone. They definitely would have totally different powerbands. Mind you, cfuge can be lighter and lower CG.

When does the teasing end and specifics like price, weight, compressor maps come out?

Ask daytona/GibsonL for some tips. Here’s some gold.

We’re a couple weeks out before it’s all finalized.

I can’t say for sure on the compressor map. That’s Eaton’s call.

Come on Bobby, lets stop polluting the thread. I’ve already told anyone who wants to “take their shot” to PM. I’ve already proven I’ll show so enough of that.

We have went over this…give me a car setup up to track and I’ll come tear it up, I am not going to personally set my car up for a track because it isn’t my thing. If I wanted to spend thousands on suspension parts, tires, and track day fees I’d go get a race car and at least do some type of semi-pro racing. Auto-cross is similar and less expensive, but it’s not very fun to race around a parking lot so that is also not for me. Drag racing is great for an enthusiast, gives a great adrenaline rush, costs $20 for as many runs as I can get in, and the track is 15min away. It also is way less stressful on you car (I know you’ll argue) if you actually know how to drive.

I’ve seen your videos…nothing is very impressive. Do you have laps under your belt…and probably over, sure. Does that make you good?..no. Show us some kind of amateur points race that you lead or something…don’t tell us how you feel like you good at a track day with a bunch of goobers that are normally the ones Sunday driving in the left lane outside of your HPDE days…lol

Thank you for clearing that up.

I have been running a thread in the mid-Atlantic thread on Audizoo for a while. You should have come out.
