4.0T Performance Parts

As the engine starts getting more attention, more parts will start becoming available.

Here is what I found so far:

Tune:
Unitronic
APR
MTM

Intake:
-USP Motorsports, no performance data (looks like shit)

Exhaust:
-AWE, +20ish whp

-Milltek, no performance data. Milltek rep emailed me back with the following response when I inquired about videos or data:

[quote]Hi Doug,

The cat-back system is designed primarily for an improvement in sound and aesthetics over the OE system.

However a small improvement in bhp and torque will be present across the RP range.

The main improvement in bhp and torque will come from installation of the Hi-Flow Sports Cats and the relevant software required for running them.

With regards ¼ mile data this is not something we obtain due to the many variables that can affect both the ET and terminal velocity.

That is it so far.

I have a feeling you are going to mod this more than you think ;D

I’d like to get a stock run in the spring, then throw tune on, then tune plus breathing mods. That’ll be it.

Hopefully someone by then has created a valved exhaust for the car. I want to maintain civility this time.

I think the S6 guys on AZ are even worse than the S4 guys, because they are older, have more money, and bigger egos to defend.

USP produces an intake, the idiots go by it, and there is not a single fucking point of data to suggest it even works from the vendor. It could be making the car worse for all we know.

And then there is the guy that had a local shop in TX (brink motorsports) make him a custom 3" cat back out of titanium so he can take his S7 to SEMA. The exhaust takes almost 6 months to make, and they didn’t even bother to dyno prove it works.

Amen… thank god we have you…good thing we have AR as well maybe a few of those guys can be saved…this is exciting. You were not afrade to pusb the s4 the s6 should be exciting even with less mods… great post

We have quite a few things in the works…

I’ll post more details as we are closer to release.

Good to hear Greg. I am assuming sways, Alu-K, end links, and intake.

Looks like I have ruffled some feathers over on AZ. Which was entirely my point. So far everyone on that forum is buying whatever first-to-market bullshit product a vendor comes up with. I mean how the fuck does someone buy a $500 intake from USP and there isn’t a shred of evidence it does anything to help?

And apparently I have a cyber stalker, B8S4. Probably Wusty’s lover.

any links?

Your earlier assessment was spot on. The rs4 guys were/are the same way. When i sokd my s4 and bought an rs4 i couldnt handle the rs4 guys. Thats why i started hanging out here with old school s4 guys instead.

Some troll from the B8 forum trying to discredit my objectivity.

Again, not sure why he is even in the C7 forum. I don’t even recognize the guy.

Haha. He clearly has a internet boner for you… :-p

good for you bro… funny how the old way of thinking is crumbling… only the B5 guys and slower guys are now dumb enough to believe the majic but dyno with no proof… This is why the B5s get slower and the B8s get faster… You are always going to get resistence from those guys who want to believe they spent good money on a greta product…ask for proof and you will find those guys that want to hide from it…great job notarmed…

that should be neat. so far these cars are real exciting and if im not mistaken you guys have a 4.0t car… the one that struggled to beat the stockish 2.0T A4 with the supercharger on it… just poking fun… the 4.0t is a monster can’t wait to see more. Anytyhing like headers or just basic stuff…

double post

Woke up this morning to this little guy:

[QUOTE=AudiB8S4;9161938]Out of respect for the fellow C7 owners here, I am going to refrain from a response you truly deserve. It’s quite obvious though that you are as unwanted here as you are in the other forums. My guess is that applies to every aspect of your existence.

From what I can tell, he bought a used 2010 S4 a couple months ago, bragged about how much money he makes, and has been doing some awesome things like tint & the exclusive s6 start stop button mod.

Cliff notes: Dude “figures” he makes more money than others that have bought an S4, and deserves a better car like an M3 or AMG. Gets flamed, and calls people dicks.

P.S. AudiB8S4, If you know about my porsche, then I’m pretty sure you are over here reading this.

Lol. Now I remember which member that is. Must be a relative of giovanni.

Supersprint has an overpriced exhaust available.

Supersprint is famous for making $10,000 exhaust and headers systems for Audis that do fuck all for performance.

Good to see they’re still at it on the four-o-t

Brink was nice enough to post some pics of the stock exhaust, and where its pinched down by the OEM

Here is a screen shot of the 4.0T self study guide:

Looks like some downpipes and a 3 inch exhaust would definitely help the power levels.

However, a ton of integration is involved with the 4 cylinder mode and ANC systems. I wonder if its really worth doing this.

apparently the ANC is always running, no matter what.

The exhaust flaps open and close depending on 8/4 cylinder mode. I wonder if an aftermarket exhaust system changes the dynamics of the ANC and what its trying to cancel out.

I am thinking about having a local shop build me a valved exhaust for my S6. Hmmm…

Having shop email Milltek directly to see possibilities.
