That hood turned out nice. The gopro mount really will give you a nice angle.
It maybe is a little much with that big of a wing. But it works for helping the car get around the track so that offsets it. did you ever get the front vent sored out yet.
Also your car is starting to look more and more like a DTM car. I think if you added more DTM looking body parts that they would have to have something to do with helping the car not only look even more race but helping the car on the race track as well. Any thoughts on adding hood venting like on the DTM cars as well.
No more cuts in the hood. This is how it’s staying. Maybe one day I’ll find a body shop crazy enough to do the fender work.
You could always look for a wrecked or salvage yard for fenders from another car and buy them. that way if they turn out like shit you toss them. If you like them, paint and install.
If anyone sees an ebay link for black fenders, LMK.
Saw this guy and thought of you

WOW hahaha nice post. Thats a serious wing.
Im not sure but if you look did that car have the front fender cut out as well. IT looks like there is the back half of the front fender missing. maybe to make room for those huge rims
That might work well for autocross. Not enough torque on that honda motor to overcome the drag of a 3D wing at big track speed.
Yea front fender was cut out, and the rear bumper was cut in half.
Check out this front wing. And you guys thought I was an asshole.

Still getting so much joy out of this car. It’s so much fun to drive.

So here is the new suspension settings:
Front shocks 7/22 clicks soft
Rear shocks 7/22 clicks soft
Front swaybar soft
Rear swaybar stiff
24 deg toe out front (loaded)
10 deg toe out rear (loaded, but 0 toe unloaded)
25.5" ride height front (loaded with driver)
25.65" ride height rear (loaded 250 lbs aero)
-3.3 camber front
-2.5 camber rear
550 front spring
700 rear spring
I’m going to up the front damping rate from 7/22 to 11/22 (or 12/24). I’m also going to dial back the front camber to -2.5. I want a little more off throttle rotation, so I figure having the rear softer will have it “jump up”. I feel my braking is compromised with -3.2 camber and the turn in is no better. With the sphericals this setting is too extreme. With rubber it might work.
Weight is 3590 with 1/2 tank, no driver, no ballast.
Hey @westwest888, can you detail exactly how/where the hood pins are installed? I’ve got a CF hood coming and am in between doing the latches like yours or the Quick Latch mini latches. Very appreciative of this thread. I’ve read through it a couple times over the last few years and also the weight reduction thread. I have a weight reduction thread on AZ going of my own. My car is down to 3533 with CF hood, AC removal, and headers/titanium single exit exhaust yet to go. The goal is to be under 3400 by Autocross Nationals this year to be more competitive in Street Modified class.
Cheers!

It was a measure twice cut once kind of job. Very custom. They found a spot near the headlights to attach. The pin housing had to be shaved down a bit to fit flush. Do yourself a favor buy 4 pins instead of two, because they do break easily and need to be replaced.
I would like to do a plastic sunroof plug. And tear out all of the rails and racks inside. I left the headliner in when I did the rollbar. If it came out, I could also yank the side airbags.
This photo gave me a chuckle. Perhaps a 65” or 62” wing would have been fine.
