I gave west -1 for trolling attempt on m3/s4 dyno penny roll comment (usually these comments are pretty funny), but then +1 for roll cage install. They didn’t cancel. 8)
That bar is literally touching the headliner. I can’t believe how close he got it. The bar is pretty far back from the seats, too. There’s more room behind my seat before the bar starts than there is behind the seats in the Boxster. The seat slider on the Recaro is all the forward for me, which is convenient because you don’t have to guess which notch when you move the seat.
I guess it makes sense that it’s further back from the B pillar, so as to augment it.
Why no recaro for passenger? Seems like a raw deal for your students…

Good observation on the passenger seat. I didn’t even see that.
The shop has to locate a donor seat from a junkyard or whatever to pull the occupancy sensor out of. Otherwise there would be no passenger seat right now. I’m not going to have any students until January so I have a while to get that done. I’ll get some solo track time in this fall. Enjoy your summers.

It’s safety equipment. I hope I never need it. It’s the best form of this you can buy. Of course I’ll have the trunk and everything carpeted. I’m just documenting the project as I go.
Absolutely. Usually the instructors/advanced guys get their own day the Friday leading into the event to go balls out. Then when students are there on sat/sun, they get to take them out and show the line. Maybe also take out students friends or other students who want differing perspectives. Instructors can also have multiple students.
Most of these people enjoy the teaching process and aren’t trying to save a few bucks just for extra track time. There are exceptions of course. But it seems pretty dumb to sit helpless in the pass seat and trust a noob in a c6 z06 to drive at 9/10’s unless you are fully invested in the teaching aspect.
My comment about the seat was west is obv killing it on the track and will be nicely strapped in while his passenger will be flying all over the place haha…Just funny: “Yea…I have a 5 piece harness with hans and roll cage, safest money can buy in case we flip in turn 6…You just err hold on…the factory airbags are good”
I’m guessing the seat will get resolved in August or September.
West there is a local wrecker With some b8 a4 seats for sale, not sure what you want to pay to basically take the sensor out. They are asking 300 for the pass seat, but will go down. I can swing by mon if your interested.
And for the record…this car is badass in my opinion. So what is the vanity plate?
You really can’t tell it’s back there from outside the car. I’ve maintained my OEM plus sleeper look.

It’s just a big chinese owned touchless car wash with like 50 laborers, they charge $35. There’s a solar paneled shell station next door where you can get premium for $4.70. It’s not in Oakland lol.
