AMD B5 S4 TiAL 605.2 car goes 10.74 @ 135mph

Looking a little closer the revs were up to 4750 when the throttle was cut but it actually started moving about 0.2 seconds before that so yes you are right it wasn’t the rpms I thought it was, but the throttle cut still killed it as you can see in the video from the outside.

So yeah I need more practice launching at the track. What’s your point?

Saw Reid for 10.9 on pump at Ubly this weekend. Then 10.7 again on race gas.

You need to be clear.

‘PUMP’ doesn’t mean a car tuned for PUMP + METH. That’s effectively race gas parameters.

He was tuned for PUMP + METH. i.e. not pump.

I’m personally surprised its still running…lol

when he emailed me I wanted to ask what car lol

Thank god your incharge of the 1/4 mile list…exactly…when your spraying 100% metbonal and probably spraying just as much as methonal as petrol thats not pump…

This pump bs is more b5 bullshit to try and cover what a fucking fail those cars are…

What about a 50:50, or 25:75? I think it’s a hard thing to classify. Just curious if they’re all race gas or what. Heck some turbos will just run water to cool temps if the IC suck and get a crazy dense charge air.

I agree it’s absolutely an asterisk to have for the mod list, but very few guys actually run 100% meth. 100% meth is a big asterisk and a bit of a danger in my book in an attempt to have a cheap race gas option, but a mixture is a bit tougher to classify as most guys only fill a meth tank once a month when running 50:50 and spray based on boost or injector dc.

It’s something that’s always interested me and been around for well over 50 years now in tons of different applications.

I’d imagine 100%, that crew will sacrifice a motor or ten and throw up hailmarys just to make headlines.

Yea I’d just be curious. 100% just gets you octane, but no cooling. So why not just run race gas if he’s at the strip, or build the whole fuel system for corn better yet.

Most want to run 50:50 for the cooling effect and then and added bump in octane.

100% is dangerous in my book bc it burns almost colorless and has a low flashpoint. But 50:50 is pretty much impossible to ignite with just an open flame, it needs the high temp/pressure/flame of the cylinder to get cookin.

I don’t think that’s the point. The point is the meth is being used to allow timing levels that would be a problem on pump gas. The parameters of a meth tune are similar to the parameters of a race gas tune. They’re nothing like a pump gas tune.

That’s the point. If it’s effectively an octane boost, it needs to be noted. You sure as fuck can’t call it ‘pump gas’. Hell E85 comes out of a pump. So does race fuel at some tracks. If we’re playing games…they’re pump gas too. Back here on earth, no they’re not.

I completely agree it shouldn’t be classified as pump. Hell the power gains alone make it crazy to compare side by side to pump, just as you’re point with E85.

I’m just saying that a true race gas tune probably has more to offer than pump+meth. And hell, there are some guys that run i as race + meth (dunno if they’re gaining anything, but they do), so then that’s a whole convoluted issue as well. So is it really fair to say it’s a straight race tune? Primetime is the only one who legitimately can talk about his race file, b/c he runs it each and every day which is awesome. I doubt he wants his race file times to be in the same category as a pump+meth.

Just bringing it up for conversation, not because I want it classified as a pump time. Like I said, it’s a huge asterisk, but its kinda like nitrous. It’s not “X” or “Y”, it is its own thing.
