Imo if ams trusts epl and puts their name behind then I’m all good with them. Ams is not a fly by night company and wouldn’t partner with another company unless it’s a solid product
This is all actually wrong. In the audi world ams knows nothing about it and going with epl just shows how big of a failure they are.
A smart company that did amy home work would have called giac revo unitr9nic…epl couldn’t tune a rs4 with a supercharger and has struggled for the past 10 years to tune b5 s4 cars…this just proved that ams isnt doing there home work…
The big name for ams came from the evo…a blind guy with no tallent can make an evo fast…then the gtr…I dont know anyone who has modded one that wasn’t able to get power out of it…
The fact that ams needs to partner with someone is showing weakness if you ask me…if they partnered with a strong company like apr giac revo then you feel it helps the ams brand name…whwn the idea of them needing epl comes up…the ams brand just took a dive…no home work…then stack that up against apr…anyone who goes with ams is just kinda blowing your money…ams isnt a tested audi brand company…APR is the premier brand with years of backing and testing…
Oh, Saki, saki, saki, you ARE reading into this too much. Come on buddy, its just a figure of speech. I could of used some of the quotes from the people watching us race. One example was a guy came up to me and said, “Man, you’ve been smoking those M5’s all day, they must be pissed.” Now I feel I did Smoke them, and I also feel I beat up on them. The stock M5 was about 20 cars back at the finish line. Yes I said 20! Also, I don’t believe the modded M5 driver was a rookie by any means, and he had 3 other guys with him to help with the car. They sure looked like they knew what they were doing. When I got to the drag strip, the modded M5 already had majority the exhaust off, and was putting on his drag radials.
Our first run I jumped to about a 3 car lead, he was slowly catching up and I beat him by a car and a half at the end. Now I wouldn’t say slowly creeping up on me is coming on like a freight train. Did it sound like it, YES! That car sounded really fast, and under different conditions, I might have been the one getting beat up. So After I won that race, the modded M5 went back to the drawing board. They had all the doors open and all 3 of them were doing stuff to the car. What you ask, I’m not sure, only thing I could tell for sure is they had a computer hooked up to it. So when we lined up for the second race it was even more of a beat down! Launched about 4 cars on him and it stayed that way! Actually if you look at the times, I was gaining on him all the way down the track.
I guess I think of you guys here as friends, and if I was telling any of my friends about these races that is how I would say it. Thats my story and I’m sticking to it. LOL
This could only mean they don’t want to pay for the tools. Because epl has a record of being mediocre at best. But if they bought R8s you would think paying for $25,000 in tuning tools would be no big deal
So maybe they just wanted a built in customer base?
Lol… Leg Humpers, nice… Apr has 2 confirmed 11.6 cars with Ryan nearly going 11.5 and running like 6+ 11.6s and bear and I trapped 119+… Epl #s? Lol. Hope they have a stage III soon, I know us apr customers will… Leghumping…
I’m not calling you out or something. Just want that to be clear.
Are you talking about jspazz’ 1999 M5 with 3 million miles?
Because if you are talking about the new m5 this is weird.
20 car lengths is 300 feet. Its also 2 seconds of et. That means they ran a 600 hp car with launch control and an automatic transmission and went mid 13s? Or are you including RT to evaluate the severity of the ‘beating’? That makes more sense. I.e. You’re going 11.6+0.2 and he’s going 12.0+1.8
Not saying you’re not being honest, just that if you’re not counting the RT it’s the worst performance from a new m5 ever lol. Would love to see external video…maybe the m5 driver was busy on the phone doing business deals.
These were new M5’s not older versions. Stock M5 ran a 13.06 (rt. 496) vs. my 11.73 (rt. .198), The modded M5 first run he ran 11.96 (rt. .396) vs. my 11.78 (rt. .211) the second run 12.14 (rt. .091) vs my 11.71 (.193)
Ya in 2 weeks… And of course they don’t havea ton of cats out there running fast times, it’s only been out for a couple months with no official stage 2
I actually reached out and spoke with both vendors
Brian, Thank you for your email. At the moment all of our flashing will be remote. The first time we flash you will require your ECU to be sent in then following that the end user will have the option of loading new files in via a special cable. We are very close to having a portable solution. IN fact we are working closely with EPL on the east coast to achieve this.
At the moment our tune is very established and a test car would not be necessary.
Have you seen, driven, or know someone with their b8 tune? Or are you just going of information other people spew out? Ams will not just put their name behind a tune if they don’t feel it’s going to be quality.
I can’t wait to be able to flash updates on my own and being able to flash back to completely stock of needed to go to the dealer
