Another JHM Tuned S6 in the 12s

I was looking in to buying the draggy do you have any experience with that?
It looks legit when looking through YT

I agree. We have our differences on this site but no one is throwing accusations or bitch about anything.

We all have the same car, and essentially the same goal.
“10/10 - would recommend” is what comes to mind when thinking about this forum!

I have a dragy module. It gives pretty consistent back to back results (often within a couple 1/100ths in the 1/4) if you use the same stretch of road (in the same direction) to test on all the time.

Thanks for the clarification. I’m looking forward to seeing these gains when I install my test pipes!

Iirc “dont mark my words” CV said we can rev these slush boxes to 7200 up from 7000 stock. Is the stock box capable of running higher than 7200, maybe 7500 rpm?

Curious what the fail point of the trans would be at this rpm or if it could be built to accommodate higher rpm

Any idea how the driveshaft, diff and axle shafts compare to the RS6? Does the RS6 use a different transmission? Curious if there is a weak link in the transmission of after it since we are now tuning the engine and transmission to throw a lot more power to these components.

I read that the RS6 trans has a more robust trans to handle the torque reliably, but you can always buy internals from on of the guys making the built RS6 trannies. They’re definitely not cheap, but if you end up going big on power (built motor, supercharger, etc), it’s probably a must have.

@eng92 I would love to try it. So I’ll put that on the wishlist.

Has any one here tried the “drag mode” in VCDS?
Never tried it on the S6 but I did have a go at it in a Passat once.
I guess with the correct wheel diameter typed in it should be somewhat accurate.

Hi Everyone,
It has been awhile since I have been on here.
The custom manifolds are the way to go!! My car is running very strong for the last three years.

Updates from test n tune today. Finally had a nice sunday to get the car back out there now that the cats were removed and catback done. Right after the exhaust mods were completed i had a pcv go bad and after that took care of fixing a bunch of vaccuum leaks which has it running insanely strong. Added a set of OZ wheels to the mix as the old stocker could no longer balance out.

Still full interior minus spare. Only weight reduction are wheels and brake rotors. Also still running the standard JHM Flash fot catted setups. We have not updated or tried to eek out anymore power yet with it. CEL is on for catalysts as well as secondary air injection which was removed when motor came out.

DA was 1445. Im sure with cooler fall air come november we can knock on 11s doors. Next plan is to do a set of coilover and lower the car to help reduce drag. Maybe a lightweight battery

Hopefully the pictures upload. I have videos too just waiting to waiting for a friend to send them

Great work. So many are looking to see the full potential of the 5.2 thanks for being on the front line showing what can be done.

I know its not the same but its similar. Guys in europe running 1000hp on stock rs6 motors and trans. I feel we’ll get close i really feel this motor and platform has so much potential especially once boost is introduced.

Also if I had that 3500lb weight figure id comfortably be in the 11s lol

Props man! Like seeing that figure for sure. I run a super lightweight Northstar agm battery it is about 3/4th the size and half the weight. Same power specs

Wow, great numbers!

Was able to get my S6 to the strip today hoping to improve on my last 12.57 @ 110 run. Did not change anything like i hoped i would but the weather was beautiful and much less humid and the car drives hard when the temps drop so figured id be able to improve on my PB. First pass clicked off a 12.49 @ 111, backed it up next pass with a 12.50 @ 110. I still have coilovers and lw battery i want to do as well as get tuned for being catless. Im sure we’ll be knocking on 11s doors by November when temps really begin to drop.

Still full weight minus spare.

WOW. That is really getting after it. This is again a fantastic working example of what good parts good maintanence and good track prep will do.

Nice!

Yea you could have a “100lb” jockey drive and loose some more weight lol. 1/8 tank of gas

What tires and psi are you running?

I just purchased an S6 with the V10 and it has the JHM long tube headers 3” JHM exhaust, high flow cats and JHM ECU/TCU tunes, spacer and LWCP.
I had watched the the YouTube video of the white S8 claiming 100hp gains.
After driving my car for a week now I can say that the YouTube post would be accurate.
The previous owner had completed this work and the synergistic effect is a significant power increase.
Absolutely the best upgrades you could do to improve flow, and of course power throughout the power/torque band.

Congrats. I’m assuming you picked up the black S6? Great catch.

Thanks! Yes this is the same black S6 with the full JHM package!
I look forward to getting acquainted with this car!
This forum really is an excellent resource!

Congratulations on the pick up. That’s a super great car.

I just might know the guy who built that car (motor / exhaust wise) so if you have any questions feel free to ask.
