Exactly thank you guys, I dont do any of it in anticipation of a hookup. I do it because I know the quality of their work and products, and I want them to succeed because they are friends and because they future of this platform and all futrure platforms will be just a little bit brighter because of them.
ya but I disclosed that they are friends of mine and I get hooked up on parts months ago on this very forum, I got some karma and a little bit of praise for saying it. So I really didnt hide anything. Saki actually made a thread trying to call me out just because they were putting a clutch in my car. I dont understand why? Also you guys know Eurocode took my car to the European car magazine GP and the Eurocode staff was standing next to my car without me in the magazine. If that’s not a dead giveaway, well than I give up.
paper - my comments weren’t directed at you. i was responding to well/notarmed’s argument that asking for full disclosure is a fool’s errand.
i already stated that i appreciate your responses to my questions. however, i do think that if you advocate any ec products in the future, you shld disclose your relationship with them. not for those of us who already know, but for the hundreds/thousands of other members who aren’t aware of that info.
I should tell you to search 1fastS4 and VF supercharger in the B7 RS4 section of audizine.
Then I should tell you to search ngng and VF supercharger in the B6/7 S4 section.
Then I should tell you to go search Spinner and PES Supercharger in the S5 section of A5oc.com
However instead I will just let you think everyone is a mad conspiracist and you are smarter. You and your EuroCode headers.
I hear you. I dont always come out and say I am close with Eurocode because I think it would be ludicrous since I post so much LOL. But again Eurocode has thousands of customers. A lot of them are friends with David, Greg, Julia, Chris and everyone else that works there. Its usually a friendly environment with chill ass people that love Audi’s and love working with Audi’s. Whenever I go there all of the customers are having a good time and hanging out and chatting about cars, and giving each other rides in their cars. You cant ask all of those people to disclose how friendly Eurocode was and that they maybe got a free oil change with their install because they are good customers. That will make people like me biased towards a shop, but not because they are getting paid or got free oil or cheap coilovers, its because thats the effect good customer service and high quality parts have on people.
[quote]now on to EC. my relationship with them is no different than the one i had with JHM. its a company that i support because i believe in there products and the cross country service i get from them is top notch.
i think most know that paper is EC’s poster child and i dont think that there are any conspiracies about that. i was able to figure that out off the bat because i have had similar relationships.

So you just really like EuroCode, just as you really like other companies. Cool.
How about paperish…his relationship is not anything like what you’re describing. He is a beta car for EuroCode, and gets free or near free parts which he then posts about on forums without saying ‘I got this clutch for free, so let’s get that out of the way up front’. I have never seen him post that. He says he’s buddies with EuroCode guys…just as you say you’re buddies with EuroTech guys or I am buddies with some of the JHM guys.
But I’m not getting free shit. It doesn’t sound like you are getting free shit. Paperish however sounds like his ‘deal’ is very different to yours or mine.
For one thing, a forum is far different than the comment section of a 200 million user strong shopping site. There is no repeated interaction with reviewers on amazon. There is no dialoguie. There is none of it. We don’t know reviewers from amazon personally. We don’t get together and hang out. We don’t know where they live, work, play etc. It’s far less connected.
In the forum, you build trust, and people put faith in what you post. It’s a community, and we have repeated interactions. It couldn’t really be any more different as people on forums are indeed held to a higher standard than are reviewers on amazon.
So you just really like EuroCode, just as you really like other companies. Cool.

I never get free shit and I never get shit that is close to free. I usually get cost. On big installs I pay cheap labor on medium installs sometimes I pay the mechanic directly. Very simple installs sometimes get done free. Parts are never free, and Eurocode never ever asks me to post anything about anything. Not that they need to with the amount of posting I do.
To be honest, he wasn’t getting a hook up of any sort. He was just goetting fucking hooked. They screwed him over. They charged him full fare, they blew his motor, and then they defrauded his warranty company and had them pay for the new motor they admitted to b6guy42 was blown due to a leaky intercooler hydrolocking the motor.
Then, B6guy42 paid his warranty company an extra $1000 to get a lower mileage motor than the replcement motor they found him. After that…the warranty company gave him a $1000 refund as the lower mileage motor worked out to the same cost as the higher mileage one, which they sent on top of what they paid the shop (PES did the motor replacement). Then PES kept the money and didn’t tell him that the warranty company refunded the $1000. DaveD saw it on the pile of paper that the warranty company sent B6guy42 after he bought the car from him and went through the records.

so they basically install parts and you show up and they say hey, it’s $1000 instead of $300 because we threw some extra parts on there.
Do you understand how that doesn’t sound right? Your also basically their beta test car. Will this turn into your 4 cops…or 30, or 34 cops story later on down the road?
LOL okay. Well then that only adds to my case that this is a shitty arrangement you have with EC. “Hey we installed parts a & b on your car. Please test them for us so we can make lots of $$$. Oh ya, here’s your bill for parts a & b, even though we gave you no advance warning.”
I repeat: that’s pretty fucked up. But hey, whatever floats your boat. I guess . . .
no I go in to get something thats $1000 retail installed without knowing what they are going to charge me becasue I know it wont be over $1000 and they say ok I installed $2100 worth of items lets say and your bill is $1000 or $1200 or whatever. Its a great arrangement for me. I understand it might be a shitty arrangement for some people but everyone is different. It is a shitty to a lot of people to powershift their car during regular driving, or to jump a couple of curbs and go offroading in an extremely lowered S4, for me thats just a way of life. If it was a shitty arrangement I would say something, I wont be taken advantage of. If something is available in the market and has been out for a while David will tell me he thinks my car needs it and I should purchase it and it is up to me whether I do. But he always has stuff in the works so I get a mystery goodybag sometimes which always puts a big smile on my face. I told Richi this the other day and he was like," Thats like having a designer for your car, I fucking want that" Everybody is different.
