Sounds good
Took some steps this weekend toward my own ghetto Ti package
So I already have the OEM Ti Package RS4 wheels. Step two was the grille surround
First I read the newspaper.

Then I busted out the plastidip, and hereās the end resultā¦

Nice work, I may be doing this myself soon. Along with the trunk trim piece and eventually the window surrounds.
Or I might just do the window surrounds first and see how it looks. I donāt mind the contrast of the fron grill surround and trunk trim piece that coordinate with the side view mirrors really. I do very much dislike the window chrome looking surrounds.
Looks pretty darn good from the pics! I think the texture was one of your hang upsā¦ Do you like? Regardless, looks great from here.
I agree. That looks great.
Iāve thought about getting the RS4 grille but not sure how it would look with sprint blue.
Looks amazing.
I read a diy and the guy explained how to avoid the texture
1 keep the plastidip spray cans warm by putting them in hot water for ten minutes before you start, and keeping them in warm water between coats
2 spray from about 4-5 inches away at most.
I was doing neither of these things in the past. Hence the texture.
Nice. I like the contrast on the Silver.
Nice. I did the same thing (keep the cans in warm water) when I did my wheels. I also bought a spray can handle to make it easier on my fingers

Hereās a better look at the texture.

If thatās as matt as it looks, I actually prefer it to the glossy Ti trim.
I had a friend wrap his and he tried DIY plasti-dip first and he said it looked like crap. So he DIY wrapped it
and he said if You mess up You can pull it off and try again. The only hard part was the elbow near the back
window. He had to use two pieces but You cant tell.
Iāll ask him what wrap he used and how much the material cost him.
your friend didnāt keep the cans warm, and sprayed from too far away. Thatās why it looked like crap.
Plastidip when done right looks PERFECT.
If you do make an error, you can always pull it off and start over as well, just like the wrap.
Good video showing install of vinyl wrap for trim
I like how they
1 used quite a wide piece (3or4") for the trim to fully allow wrapping under and over
- Used that big square sheet to deal with the annoying back corner, meaning you wonāt have any seems
missed the end of this thread. Saki nice dipping skills, looks great. You should complete the Ti and dip the rest of your trim. I am going to take all my alu/silver black soon

to bring this back to lifeā¦the ghetto ti package threadā¦thereās a group buy happening here in Toronto for about $300 to get your windows and grill professionally wrapped in black nylon.

Also, the rear trunk strip on the B7 RS4 is aluminium, however on Ti package RS4s, it is just colour matched to the car.
I am thinking getting it wrapped black wonāt look good. Fortunately this is the most annoying part to do so if you skip it, youāre skipping the hardest part to wrap. Easy to plastidip but again, it will stand out heavily on a red or silver car.

Shouldnāt be to annoying to do. It pops off, I wrapped it on my previous avus and it looked fine IMO. Maybe I should do a diy for the trim, itās really not hard just need some patience.
