so who is the best (quickest 1/4 mile / safest) tuner of the 3.0T? does JHM tune the 3.0T yet?
If JHM tuned the 3.0t, then they should seriously consider moving their distribution off APR’s servers.
fastest ET is 11.57 for GIAC. APR’s fastest is 11.61. Virtual tie.
fastest MPH on the list is 119.77. APR’s fastest is 119.60. Again, virtual tie.
JHM has only created hardware for the B8 (rotors, exhaust, test pipes, shifter, clutch/flywheel)
I spoke to Jason about that in DEC 2013 and he said they won’t tune one unless they own one, and they’re having too much fun with the S5/RS4/B7 2.0T right now to add the 3.0T to the stables. Who knows.
ok cool thanks.
Heh, looks like they wanted to release it before I came out with the rest of the pics.
These look great Joel!
They must enjoy being forced to release products before they’re ready
That comment on the bottom though. I’m sure it’ll be deleted soon.

I’m told APR’s cost on this DP is right around $250.
It’s funny that they’re tumbling the cast piece so it doesn’t resemble the manifold I posted earlier.
Possible 3.0t tune theft?
I’ve had no direct experience with any of the APR 3.0t tunes but I find it interesting that APR employees have admitted to having REVO files and taking IP from REVO for an extended duration of time it seems.

Looking back, this event on May 19th 2013 was the one which my source was referring to.
APR released their 3.0t port flash on June 5th 2013.
This subject was brought up a few weeks ago in the APR Dealers secret Facebook group when dealers were questioning where the www.goapr.com/revo page went and why there were so many rumors about the 3.0t tune being stolen. Mangrove’s response?
[quote=APR]APR is working to avoid internet arguments and disparagement of competitors. I think that publicly speaking about lawsuits or other internal matters that may or may not have occurred between APR and other businesses is a tactic that we may have embraced in the past but going forward we would like to avoid such public discussions all together.
Therefore, the link you requested was removed from our website and we do not want to release or send you the documents in the interests of competing solely on the merits of our products and customer service.
So its nothing personal and I hope you can find a way to let the power and drivability of APR products do the talking for you.

Hmm…
double post
stealing from REVO . . . oh the irony
Let me see if I understand this…because this is fucking gold
Sean@APR…the biggest douchebag I’ve seen post for a major tuning company…colluded with the guys at EuroCode…another group of super douchebags who we have all questioned publicly here for years…to host a REVO flash day so that APR could steal a REVO file from a REVO tuned B8 S4?
Both of those companies need to fire both of those guys, immediately. Since EuroCode is owned by Serabi, the forums need to fucking boycott that shithole company immediately. They’re scamming their customers and using their customers to help a tuning company…while fucking over another tuning company.
The irony of this was that APR all along kept saying they wouldn’t release their ECU tune to be done at dealers for ‘fear that it will be immediately copied by competitors due to dealers who sell for multiple tuners’. Talk about self reflection. I guess they assumed everyone is as dirty as they are.
irony at its best!
Probably not the first or last file APR will look at.
Pretty sure it was paperfags car used… Shitty all around really…

I thought I didn’t have this in a message but I was incorrect (heard it from several employees). Let’s add the 4.0tt tune to this list as well! Name and avatar has been removed as well as one line that may give indication as to who this person is.

Is that the engine pulled on the car that ran “just fine”?

The engine was replaced with a new one. I wonder why the engine is being pulled again.
More like wonder why “revo’s biggest US dealer” pulled 8t again.

Or why Andrew Mernone, DNA Performance, who is Magnuson’s marketing manager would choose to like and tag Magnuson in the photo of an empty R8 engine bay from a car that’s known to have issues with their product…
It doesn’t seem like a smart marketing tactic right?
I suspect this is an old picture recycled for some social media exposure on a boring Saturday.

Maybe, but more issues with the R8 would explain its absence at the HG Motorsports (his sub-dealer) open house on Jan 25th, where several high end customer cars were in attendance. Instead of bringing the R8, he brought the GTI.
Regardless, he should probably tag #SloppySecondsSuperchargerSaturday and perhaps include a photo of a supercharger.
