APR Deceptive Website and Marketing practices

IIRC the original kit was designed by “Tony” who was working for Harrop at the time. Then he was working for Magnuson at the time he developed the 2nd kit.

Notice how on the first kit, the SC bolts onto the intake manifold.

The 1740 SC kit uses an integrated compressor. GM holds a patent for an integrated compressor and that’s the patent that has been indicated that APR has infringed upon.

“Proof” that the pictures come from APR

Since Sean@APR is the only person claiming that the pictures didn’t come from APR, I thought I’d provide some background verification.

Aside from the technician’s shirt being in the photo, also in the back of one of the photos is the ultrasonic cleaner.

Also pictured is the shop table that the exhaust is cut open on.

The pictures are from APR’s 2012 building tour. Yes, they have moved equipment and tables in the past 2 years

Here are two new pictures I have received over the weekend. I will update the initial exhaust post with these.

Just another modified design of the quarter wave / helmholtz resonator. Instead of having the T branch off on the pipe inside the muffler, the “T” is external and still dumps into the empty muffler casing. How many golf balls were stuck in this muffler when performing the “golf ball test”?

So in the wake of the Apr deceptive practises and the latest realization that Apr has been lying for years about their exhaust systems, audizine members finally caught on and a thread or two blew up big time over the last few days. It happened on vortex as well but Apr had those locked down.

On audizine the thread ran for a day or so, and a moderator said he wouldn’t touch it while facts came out.

Anthony stepped in to say audizine was diferent, and that ‘money doesn’t talk here’, saying facts would be allowed to be shared.

A bunch of posts we’re then cleaned up lol.

Still the meat remained here on audirevolution, and people on az linked to it for the discussion.

Then, the thread disappeared from the B8 S4 section and was buried in the chatterbox. Step one of money talking.

Next, step two, I was a bit surprised when someone’s post had a boatload of asterisks in it…***************
.net

They are editing people’s posts to hide audirevolution links.

Looks like they found a way to protect apr after all, and money talks loud and clear on audizine. Ironically, the money is there not because Apr is paying Anthony for being a good guy…they’re paying for access to the people/content creators who are driving the site. The very same people gett8ng ripped off… And whose posts are being edited/deleted/getting infractions. So fucking backwards.

The real test will be if they start deleting / banning if people use link shorteners such as:

bit.ly
goo.gl

^ explain . . . and I might just test Audizine . . . .

My goodness!

Go to http://bitly.com and paste your AR link and convert it to a shorter link. Use that link and it works. I just tested it.

I just went through this morning and shortened all my links so that they stay alive.

Does APR implement RSC technology in RS4 1740 supercharger kit? I mean that would explain a lot then ;D

I find these revelations concerning APR truly amazing!

They have been doing that for years, they will use **** to block forum to different forum link. They pretend like AZ is the only audiforum in assistance

^^^the problem is if they do it, they look scared and petty, and they know it. They’re willing to take the risk. When Euroaddiction opened up, they did the same thing. After a while they backed off because they realised it made them look weak.

It’s funny…this little site is a private site with 1000 members and denies entry to almost everyone who tries to sign up, allowing 1 in 20 accounts. There are no advertisers, it is not a business in any regard (just a money losing one it would seem, since this shit can’t be free)

Despite this, audizine is so intimidated by audirevolution that they have blocked the site from being linked. Are they worried we’re going to steal their 100,000 members? Not likely. As I mentioned, literally hundreds of AZ members have already been BLOCKED from joining here. He can have the masses lol.

Tells you that 1000 members here are far more powerful than the low number would suggest. I also like how people make fun of this site for being small (that’s by design fuckwit)…or seeing people like APR employees slag the site, when these same people used to enjoy taking advantage of the candor and the knowledge base here…the same open discussions that hurt APR competitors in the past when they had fucked up, APR loved it. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, APR is denouncing audirevolution publicly (a bit childish Sean) and are paying Anthony to block the damaging information here.

It is childish and Petty, and not just this site. If they didn’t worry about a forum being a business their “war” wouldn’t exists. If shady practices and inferior products exist let the facts speak for themselves, it is not like they will stay hidden forever…

Yes. You’re quick to defend APR. It’s funny stuff. Shouldn’t you be a GIAC fanboy? ;D

Here’s my beef summed up.

  1. they said on forums that their exhaust was higher tech, and was more expensive because it was FAR more complicated than basic perfo-core glass pack mufflers or simple helmholtz resonators

  2. they showed the corsa multi-fin technology in their advertising saying this is what was inside APR Golf, S4, A4 mufflers and or resonators, and again explained that this is very time consuming and expensive to make, thus requiring the higher-than-market price APR exhaust was selling for.

  3. they attacked AWE and other competitors for having ‘old fashioned’ technology, saying that calling RSC a helmholtz resonator was like calling a 100 year old phone a cellphone…and then we found out APR too was using old fashioned helmholtz resonators (or nothing at all lol)

  4. they did all of this while knowing for at least the last 2, if not 4, years, that they were selling basic helmholtz resonators, or glasspacked perfo-core mufflers, all while decrying these technologies as ‘old fashioned’…and while advertising patented/trademarked RSC technology, and using the patented/trademarked RSC technology imagery in their advertising images

Those are an inexcusable set of facts, and it is an indefensible position that they can’t afford to make right in their fragile financial state. That is also why APR is paying Vortex and Anthony to help them bury their problems. It’s pretty sad to see. They’ve really gone downhill.

This image below of a post made by Keith, and the quote/image below it by Arin is the icing on the cake that shows APR was / is full of shit. Seeing Sean@APR run around the forums and try to say ‘all of this stuff is RSC so we’re ok, legally’ shows that they’re only worried about quelling a class action lawsuit, and they have zero integrity or regard for their reputation at this point.

I know I don’t post here a lot but this is absolutely outrageous. I cannot believe how far Arin and Sean are digging their own graves. Just be straight up with everyone and fix the issues, but its probably too late for that… ::slight_smile: I have been and will continue eyeballing these threads on the sites and hope to see APR “man up”.

This was created by another Audizine member…slowly gaining momentum.

#PRnightmare

This is shocking!

I’m just upset that APR wont stand behind their product, my APR exhaust was purchased with my car from an Audi dealership, since i wasn’t the original owner they will not honor my rattling exhaust even though there is a known problem with how they built the rear canisters, and it has been documented that they have replaced many before. The one on my car was replaced before also come to find by its serial number. The product is lifetime warranty, and they should stand behind it since it is a manufacturing defect and not something caused by the owner. I have been waning to cut it open to fix the rattle, i may do it sooner now to take some pics of the insides if i can find a tig welder in my area.
