APR Deceptive Website and Marketing practices

I’m just upset that APR wont stand behind their product, my APR exhaust was purchased with my car from an Audi dealership, since i wasn’t the original owner they will not honor my rattling exhaust even though there is a known problem with how they built the rear canisters, and it has been documented that they have replaced many before. The one on my car was replaced before also come to find by its serial number. The product is lifetime warranty, and they should stand behind it since it is a manufacturing defect and not something caused by the owner. I have been waning to cut it open to fix the rattle, i may do it sooner now to take some pics of the insides if i can find a tig welder in my area.

The problem is that you won’t be able to get it replaced by APR because Corsa has cut APR off on all products due to lack of payment. That was the trend for APR for many, many, many years and Corsa finally said, enough is enough and cut ties. You would probably have better luck going straight to Corsa regarding any defects, as they are the ones that actually produce the exhaust.

Corsa builds them and then ships them to APR in APR boxes. Then APR ships them from their HQ, here in Alabama, directly to the customer.

I found audirevolution.net because of the APR/Mangrove deal, I have found this site to be a decent source of info for me, I do take what I read with a grain of salt. Mostly because you (crew219) have a personal issue with APR. I am not saying this discredits your statements but it certainly makes me wonder what you relationship was and why it dissolved?

Would you be willing to share your personal story? It would help give some perspective on where you are coming from. Or could you point me in the direction of a place to read about your fall out with APR?

I am interested to see what comes of the RSC thing. Personally, yes, I think its wrong to advertise a technology as being constructed one way and them using it more as a marketing term and applying it to all exhausts that have the same sound characteristic.

I’m also very interested in if APR really knew what was in there exhausts. The fact they recently cut one open leads me to believe the simply trusted Corsa and had no idea. Fukt, yes, but Corsa would be the one with the truly questionable practice here.

I personally own a Corsa exhaust (BMW not VW). It was sold as being “RSC”, it does not drone, it sounds great. I had had two other aftermarket mufflers on this car, both droned, both were marketed not to. The Corsa was the only one that worked and I have happily kept it. I have no plan to cut it open and see how it was made, nor do I really care. It works as advertised, I’m happy.

Also the material change only applies to these APR exhausts. I doubt there has been any change in stainless for your BMW exhaust.

What they should have done is have a Mangrove executive post, admitting they (the “old” regime) fucked-up, and that they are changing policies/processes going forward. “Cleaning house” It would be partially a load of BS but I believe they would have cleaned-up some of the mess. He is very egocentric, he did jump into a APR downpipe thread I bumped on AZ asking if they also contained RSC technology sarcastically. I enjoyed the post you made. I felt the same way.

With so many questionable posts of his in the past I’ve too thought that his front as a concerned forum goer has been blown. All his outrage over seemingly nonexistent issues when it came to jhm were all said to be him just being a concerned forum goer. Looks like that’s not the case.

You’d almost want to start a new thread on that. I think the absent APR activity on this site is rather telling. It appeared like someone at APR was smart enough to come here and start doing damage control. After the first page of that thread even I was starting to think things were going to turn back in favor of APR. Then the thread of the APR employee here to help just died. Now you have APR making comments about this thread on other forums. It’s clearly a bad move. It looks even more like they are hiding and dodging issues.

…and APR is afraid of the knowledge base of AudiRevolution. They know that we ask the tough questions here and are less likely to accept a BS PR answer…it isn’t in their best interest to post bullshit here that will live on the internet forever. It’s always comical for people to beg to have posts edited on this site though.
