Edit: not sure why it doesn’t link right to the post? Fucking iPad… It’s #133. Page 4…

Nice find. Arin has been hinting at this for a while now. Hopefully he’ll chime in here.

It’s because exclamation points generally aren’t in urls so it cut off the hyperlink after it.

I guess this is a bigger deal to the 2013+ guys. but still…I can see you prime…you want a 11.5xx, don’t you…maybe it’s all in the last 200 rpm and a better non-slippy 2-3 shift

As a 2013 dsg owner with APR stg 2, I’d love to see a 7k redline. I can feel the power building hard before it disappointingly shifts at 6400. I guess at least the IATs are kept in check for those of us without a CPS.

Also, B8.5s shift noticeably softer at redline WOT.

Estimated date of release:

B9 platform.

Brandon, Thanks and yeah hopefully Arin chimes in…

MDubz, Thanks for the heads up… I hate my ipad and my stupid iphone even more, apple sucks!

J, Well if LC is done right I think it can work… Even if the slight delay after your are moving can be elimnated I think that would help… But yes I would like the RPM’s even more… I’ll be well under 11.5x this season… So did you get rid of the B8?

rs4nightmares, yes it would benefit the 13+ cars the most…

Jeff, LOL! So how’s the stage III kit from AWE/GIAC coming? Didn’t you just get a software update rom GIAC to fix some bypass issues? Just having fun with ya… Hope all is well…

Hahah always Prime!

Ya all is well, not much going on in the cold weather. Hahah I honestly think I would hold off on Stage III even if they did offer it as school and what not are keeping my from the time and resources needed to run and maintain a setup such as that.

The latest update from GIAC is no joke, and with my current fuel setups, meth, 93,104, e85 blends. I have more then enough options to keep me busy and content for a while(I hope  )

I have my sights set to hold onto this car until I am done my degree then either trade it in for B9 or hold onto it and see what else is on the market. That new Z06 is absurdly awesome.

When the stage III is released you can bet I will be visiting again for some fun! Hopefully we will have some more time for ourselves this time around.

Jeff, it’s all good… You’re welcome out anytime… I would really like to get a bunch of us at the track together, that would be fun… So GIAC officially offers an e85 tune now? Any details? Not straight e85 I assume… How’s timing? Iats? Etc. Can’t wait to see times in the spring especially if the tune is as good as yours and Pete’s 60 130 indicate they could be…

Oh no, they don’t offer an official tune, but I have logged and tested so many different fuel mixtures on both 93 and 104 tune that I can pretty much be anywhere in the country and run my 104 tune.

You would be surprised though as to what fuel or fuel mixture netted me the best numbers, as far as my logs are concerned.

secret?

I bet shell 91 plus 50/50

Prime, I have my B8 still, it’s going for its last service, 72km on it.

Now I’m confused about e85…GIAC has a tune or not? I recall Arin saying it couldn’t be done since there’s not enough fueling for it (e85 needs 30-40% more fuel volume), and looking at injection times in the logs I believe it. But if it’s done…then…? I’m not sure what to believe.

They said they were running E85 on Austin’s car I’m pretty sure.

What kind of fuelling volume would be required for a B8 S4 to make 450-460 whp on 93 octane pump gas? If you were guessing that is. Because that’s what the conservative estimate is for the B8 S4 1740 kit is going to make…and Arin has already said the S4 won’t require the fuelling upgrades the RS4 does (pumps on the RS4).

http://www.goapr.com/products/stage3plus_b7_rs4.html

They are only replacing some of the hardware on the RS4 for fitment issues, not for capacity issues. RS4 injectors are good for a crazy amount of power. That kit is making 525 WHP. JHM is making even more on some of their configurations. All with stock injectors.

How similar are the B8 S4 and Rs4 injectors?

Yeah I know. Somewhere in there I was calculating injection times based on the gnarliest stage II 100 octane logs that would indicate 30-40% more fuel would be pushing the direct injection time window. Have to find that.

At the time I was hoping a tuner would comment and prove me wrong but nobody stepped up. Guarding secrets maybe. Too bad.

J, that’s cool… I saw in another thread Saki mentioned you being down an Audi so I wasn’t sure if you got rid of the B8…

Speaking of E85 and such… This just was posted on vendorzine… I think it’s a slippery slope with GIAC talking about running E85 even if the “tune” is not specific to that fuel… I know Arin has been pretty adament about not running/supporting E85 on the forums and such…

WHAT…THE FUCK?

[quote] I ran 91/E85 50/50 mix a few times on the race map and no issues, then on maybe the 5th tank I got a check engine light and had my buddy at the audi dealership scan it and it a showed lean code.

Are people just randomly trying shit here?

What is wrong with this guy,

My buddy did this,

I’m doing that,

Let’s not log anything to make sure, just go willy nilly.

I posted my disgust.

I threw my 2c in too on AZ. He’s doing it because GIAC did it (didn’t say he spoke with them about what was safe etc) but the eth content is definitely too high to expect no issues based on what the N54/N55 guys have historically gotten away with on a similar boosted/DI 3L engine.

Boost, exactly… Not saying this is giacs fault by any means but others read things from them and then try it… They don’t have the tools or experience that a company does… It’s kind of like the athlete being a role model argument IMO… Besides if the dude wants to go faster he should have just bought an apr tune ;D. Lol
