The obsession isnt ridiculous. How many people did STASIS fuck over when they went out of business? Lots of people bought the “Statis tuned audis” because they would “covered under warranty”. In reality they got screwed. As well as people who bought their products expecting customer support.
A very similar issue is happening at APR and no one should know or care? Instead you keep deleting posts and locking threads. Im not saying APR is going down in flames or they will go out of business. Hell Mangrove could turn them into a huge powerhouse for all i know. I hope they get back on thier feet. But dont sit there and write this off like its nothing.
The fact that they still are acting shady and not confirming this is very telling. Its becoming more and more known accross the web by day. IF they were smart they would come out with a public statement already. The longer they wait the worse they look.
Can you unban / un-global ignore Bronson? I know what info Arin@APR provided you regarding Bronson, but you never received the facts behind it + all the Facebook hacking. I think he had a few accounts on vortex. MKV727/ DriverMotorsport, DriverMotorsport1, could leave the Bronson@APR one banned.
I wasn’t full of it when I said I was told by an APR employee about the $5k a month. Perhaps they’re incorrect as they’re not in that specific department.
Yep it was amusing all the flak I got over the entire Stasis ordeal. Then one day . . . nothing . . . all gone. Guys like Europrice continued to “believe” . . . even after Jack Spinella’s last post about a possible date for restructuring . . . nada.
Now you have a bunch of people with warranties that will never be fulfilled, invoices that will never be paid, settlements that are meaningless scraps of paper.
Well . . . it doesn’t look good that APR is being dropped by vendors…
I’m playing devils advocate at the moment with this but…
If APR simply came out and said “Yes we are restructuring some things. Yes we made management changes. No we aren’t going away.” you would then be satisfied? In reality APR isn’t going to address all the things said in numerous places and quite frankly I wouldn’t either as lots of it is speculation, rumor and the musings of a handful of people that don’t work for the company.
Look, I can understand the animosity on some level with Arin as he tends to be a bit passionate about his replies to things. I’ve been telling APR for years well before Arin that they need to stop bashing competitors, stick to making good products and provide answers to technical questions about their products as much as they reasonably can.
That said, you have two very caustic things that are a problem. One is tuners fighting with other tuners over claims, technology, code, whatever. I’ve been dealing with that for over 15 years and figure it will never completely end. The second part are the fans boys of the various brands (paid through product or not) that go into every thread and bash XYZ company. After a while if fanboys throw XYZ company under the bus all the time, XYZ company will get agitated and eventually start to push back and argue with them which just seems to make it worse. So do you defend your company/products? Or do you ignore them because they are just blowhards in a forum? Some tuners literally have gotten out of the VW business and moved on to Porsche and other higher end brands so they don’t have to deal with the “kids”. I’m sure Todd at AWE will be happy to tell war stories in dealing with idiots in the forums and other tuners. He doesn’t have all day to sit in all these different forums and argue with some person all day long (let alone other tuners that have full time people in the forums). He got into this business to make products for cars. Hell, I can’t stand how some of our readers act either sometimes.
I said in another thread that I’ve watched a LOT of tuners come and go over the years. Hell, even BBS has filed for creditor protection in Germany. Who is safe anymore? I wasn’t trying to say it isn’t important what is happening at APR - I get that. Hopefully someone will say something soon on their end.
@jamie: my beef with Todd@AWE was quashed when he admitted using outsourced components from China and finishing the final product in-house. Even without the proof from the bills of lading, it was obvious to everyone that the volume of pipes they were producing couldn’t have come from the mandrel bender they have in their shop. They admitted the truth, the community went on and I don’t think it affected their business in the long-run.
Heck, I even just placed an order with them.
So what were you saying regarding Mangrove’s plans for all the extra space at APR?
Did you know that the building isn’t owned by APR?
Hi Jamie. Not sure who you are as I don’t spend any time at vortex but it sounds like you’re a big shot over there.
Anyway nobody here thinks mangrove financed Apr in order to shut it down. However what they know…and what we are finding out…is that Apr is in a very bad financial position right now.
We are talking about a million dollars or so in unpaid bills from the looks of it…loads of debt… Loads of terminations… and a reputation that is starting to look terrible instead of invincible.
On top of this they are having performance issues it seems with some of the platforms…and worse they are being tagged as unreliable/unsafe with some of their stage 3 products blowing up cars.
So there’s certainly cause for concern.
You can call out crew and question the authenticity of his claims…however when a former Apr senior executive is posting about this, and other former and current employees at APR are posting here corroborating EVERYTHING crew219 has said about APR’s ownership transition and difficulties … and then other employees at APR are contacting audirevolution.net site administration/moderation hoping for ip information on members who they suspect are Apr employees… One needs to step back and think.
I think your claim of this all being a crew219 tinfoil hat conspiracy is dead in the water. In fact it might be time to apologize to him for that.
While you may not be paid $5000 a month by Apr, whatever it is, it is clearly enough that you and your moderators are voraciously racing around vortex to delete any trace of this story. In fact you’re so well compensated by Apr, you’re coming to THIS SITE to attempt to discredit crew219 and the Apr employees who have aired their grievances here. THAT is working overtime my man. That’s not in the normal forum - advertiser contract! You picking up Arin and Keith at the airport and helping them move too?
Nice of you to insult Apr though by saying you could continue on comfortably without them. Apr should remind you of this when they renegotiate their advertising deal with you.
I’m sorry I’ve been unable to participate in the thread for the past several days but I’d really like to try and make some sense of your involvement.
Are you Jamie representing vwvortex and its opinions? You’ll excuse my unassuming tone. However it makes no sense that you’d be participating in this thread if you didn’t have something to gain here. I see the need to step in and straighten out the record for what was potentially a harmful statement against vwvortex and its advertising agreement. Still I don’t see a dire need to sign up on a site to do just that. To me your post appeared to go past that when you made your last statement contained in your first post. So while you seem to have harsh words for crew219 and his obsession with APR you as the representative of an entire site signed up here to try and discredit him?
Dave I’ve got to say I continue to gain a wealth of information from what you’ve shared. I know you’re not going to be able to know for sure the answers to these questions but I’d like to get your thoughts.
You mentioned the name flying tomatoes. I’ve been turned off from anything he posts in because I believe there’s no actual genuine honesty in his posts. It seems like he is almost being paid to follow and bash people in anything JHM related. Until now I’ve thought there’s got to he something about this guy’s actions and motivation we’re all missing. Do you think it’s possible flying tomatoes could have directed do do this by someone at APR?
