APR has been sold to Mangrove Equity

interesting…I guess flying tomatoes, and his buddies, including whatever moron is posting with the APR LLC Instagram account were too fucking busy joking around with FlyingFatso’s invoices to comment on the other blown motor 1740 cars. Funny thing is flyingfatso posted on that thread above. Then went dead fucking quiet (nice for a change) once he realised the guys car is dead.

HEY APR…NEWSFUCKINGFLASH…YOUR KIT IS KILLING MOTORS. YOU’RE RUNNING TOO MUCH FUCKING BOOST, YOUR NEW TUNER SUCKS, AND YOU’RE KILLING FUCKING MOTORS

Now wake the fuck up and act like a group of professionals instead of playing instagram games. You’re a bunch of 30-40 year old men. You’re not 13 year old 10th grade girls. GROW UP!

They all want to be cool kids on instagram and suck flying fatso’s dick. WTF happened to this company.

p.s. has Keith been fired? He sure disappeared, suddenly. He’s the only sane guy there, I thought.

In the end we will all just laugh in their faces…it’s just plain sad for the community though.

They actually ridiculed the fact that JHM hasn’t officially released their kit and they have been testing it for years. it’s odd how people try and point that out as a downfall…but those were AMviva clowns I’m referring to.

I also think the part where the owner says “Maybe it’s just in my head and I’m too used to my M5” is funny. Does he mean a new twin turbo 580 hp M5? The one that barely traps 122 mph and runs high 11s to low 12s?

Unless I’ve missed something, an APR1740 RS4 should easily handle a new M5 from a roll, and should OBLITERATE it from a dig. So there’s no way an M5 should feel faster than a 1740 supercharged RS4, running ‘it doesn’t matter how much’ boost.

Also interesting to note that the owner of the car nailed the diagnosis already, right there on instagram. Wonder if he will do a tear down and share his results…or if he will bury them and make jokes like flying fatfuck.

Well considering he is actually admitting the smoke, I’m pretty sure how this will turn out.

hopefully PIT STOP MOTOR TUNING isn’t an APR dealer…or we’ll never hear about it

Thanks for sharing Oscar nice work on the screen caps. It’s a shame to see. But the truth always prevails.

FlyingTomacco. … your move

They have a horrible website…so who knows. It looks like they operate out of a storage unit.

Update:

…and damn only 20k miles on the motor

http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b601/rs4elitist/ScreenShot2014-10-25at71117PM_zps9a822b1c.png

His car is beautiful. It’s a great combo, ibis ti

BTW saki Flyingfatfuck called you out on IG about you saying his motor is blown. I was at dubrun today and was talking about APR and blowing motors and someone and they showed me a post FT made directly at you for saying his motor is blown. So its quite obvious he reads the site.

That’s what I was referring to above. He and APR are too busy playing on instagram to come back to the Ibis car guy’s post where he mentions the blown motor.

I pointed out that flying tomatoes’ car was blowing oil out the ass due to his fried rings a while ago. The fact that he posts an invoice from rsworx (who inexplicably are taking shots at JHM in that instagram chain) means absolutely nothing. Why doesn’t rsworx post the pic that they hurriedly deleted from their Facebook?

Anyway, we all know flying tomatoes will be quick to lie. Just because a couple of his buddies might cover up for his cars failures means nothing here. If we ignore his car, we now know of 3 APR 1740 RS4s on the forums…and all 3 have bad motors. One is sitting under a tarp at APR a month after being used to run the 1/4 mile. One had his motor replaced at 034 Motorsports a month after getting supercharged. One is spewing smoke and down on power in Glendale california 1200 miles after getting apr1740 (the ibis car). Then APR pulls the product from its shelves.

That’s pretty damning already.

The fact that ‘Apr sponsored’ flying tomatoes has been blowing blue smoke since the blower install…then was seen spewing loads of smoke at h20…then his undriveable car was trailered through 3 States…then had a pic of his car torn apart posted by accident by rsworx on Facebook, which was almost immediately deleted from rsworx social media sites…All while he is buying rs4 engines. And the story is this is all because of a bad coil pack? Or spark plug? LOL

Who gives a fuck about him or his car. When his motor blows (again) nobody will care. All we know about him is that he is sponsored by his parts companies so his comments and opinions are bought. We also know he will go to any financial length to save face. The truth of the matter is Apr did the right thing by shelving the kit that is blowing up RS4s in every corner of the country.

We know FT is reading this. So why not sign up already and refute these claims, if indeed saki is just telling stories… the silence is deafening. And no, passive aggression on other social media sites or forums doesn’t count!

I’ll get round to signing up on instagram but, no, posting an invoice you made on MS Word at home also does not count

exactly. Or RSworx customer spends tens of thousands of dollars there on his car…and asks for an invoice showing just his JHM transmission rebuild kit. Shocking that he gets it lol.

In the end, as I said, I dont care. I said earlier ‘what do I know?’ as I was posting what I was told about the photo of his car taken apart. IF RSworx indeed only rebuilt his transmission…does that change anything of relevance?

  1. APR has blown 3 of 3 RS4 motors on the other 3 forum cars with their APR tvs1740 supercharger kit
  2. APR has now abruptly taken the kit off the market
  3. APR has said almost NOTHING about these concerns people have raised (the blown motors), and who knows how many ticking time bombs are out there waiting to be added to the list

Does ANYTHING flying fatso posts change any of that? When the situation surrounding his car looks the way it does (the smoke, the trailering, the picture which was quickly hidden, etc) should we be surprised that people are skeptical, considering those 3 points above?

I think the problem is flying fatso thinks we’re focused on him. He’s an egocentric type, so that’s understandable, but as I said, I don’t care. I’m focused on why the fuck these APR RS4s (which he happens to have one of) are killing motors and the community doesn’t seem to want to talk about it. His sycophantic followers (fitting) are blind dummies. Again, do we really care what people who ignore facts in order to curry favour with an instagram celebrity say?

Even if they were killing motors , it would be a good time to offer a complete crate motor with the package . That is if it gets revived.
i.e. a massive crate shows up @ the show with a motor built and dyno tested to spec + a core charge. Core goes back to whoever supplied the built set up. Would cut down on labour time and you would at least have a motor that can handle what you throw at it.

Not a bone to pick with APR but I am not sure what the big deal about motors blowing up is? This is the B5 S4 chassis all over again. Find the weekest link , create a solution , go again until the next week link is found.

This isn’t a $600 ebay turbo that is blowing up cars one step away from the junkyard…

This is a ~$20,000 kit that was supposed to be fully vetted to put on your ~$20,000 motor. A halo product.

and it isn’t blowing B5 S4 motors which you can find in multiple chassis and source for nickels compared to the BNS.

We are also talking about APR, one of the biggest names in the industry that people have connected to safety and reliability. Now with their new tuner, that reputation has gone off a cliff.

Only one company is extensively testing these motors, ironically the same company that hasn’t fully released versions of their kit because they don’t want customers blowing their motors…

Wow please don’t tell me you actually have a business. Because what you said has to be suicide. It’s amazing there are people out there like you. News flash you know the people who care. Probably the people who bought the kit and had there motors blown.

Owners of this kit paid APR $20k to find all of the weak links.

I think you need to re-word this…

Honestly I firmly believe that testing should be done by the tuner/manufacture not the customer, especially at this price point…

Diego

Is this your way of mentioning that APR put out a wanted ad for 20-30 2.0T FSI cores? Lol.

Blowing up motors on customer cars from a company whose reputation was built on being a solid reliable conservative tuner is bad news. Then again, they went away from that direction when they hired two new-to-VAG Mitsubishi Evo tuners.

Good to see that this thread has had plenty of action in my absence. I guess the folks at APR were wrong in saying that I’m the only reason why this thread continues to grow

you do realise we’re talking about customer cars here…right?

APR claimed they did their R&D in Australia. Then they launched the kit full retail release here. We know of 4 cars with the kit

meem - customer in NorCalifornia - blown motor in a month
ibis white ti car in Glendale - customer in southern california - blown motor in 1200 miles
GRD (APR dealer) car from Chicago - blown motor a month after APR used the car to run the 1/4 mile
flyingtomatoes - you know this story if you’re following along.

These are 3 customers and one APR dealer…none of whom were testing the kit. They had the full retail release kit on their cars. One is APR sponsored (flying tomatoes) so we won’t hear the truth ever. One is an APR dealer who can’t say a fucking thing (fortunately someone at APR posted about that motor blowing up). Two are customers who paid $20,000 and their cars are now dead. The cost of a new BNS engine approaches $20,000. A rebuilt one is around $12,000-15,000. A used one is like finding a needle in a haystack since there are only about 2000 RS4s on the continent.

So I think you’re just grossly misinformed. We are not posting about APR shop cars (and since they’re broke and fireselling their inventory, we also know they don’t own and never did own a B7 RS4 to test the kit on). We are posting about customers…like your customers…whose cars are FUCKED.
