If you guys knew how many lies / misinformation he’s spread through the industry, you’d probably change your mind. Flying_tomatoes wasn’t a single case.
I should just start working on a post regarding that right now…
Of members that were compensated that undoubtedly received “suggestions” to post against other companies from Arin.
I should know… I’ve received plenty of those messages from Arin before and there are a long list of people who’ve also received such requests. To be relevant to this forum, there were a lot of messages from Arin regarding the REVO knock sensor “data” which he presented on Audizine.
I’m using the REVO vs APR as an illustration as a time where I was prompted by Arin to post on Audizine. At the time I was beta testing the 2.0t FSI runner flap delete for them which was provided at no charge. It is well known that Arin does this with a lot of forum posters.
I never liked Arin. Every person i hang out with (in real life, Lots of Golf R owners) dont like him either. He is an ass. I would not shed a tear if he was let go. I never want anyone to go through financial hardships or lose a job but the shit he says and does is down right dirbaggish. He and FT are made for each other.
If he is kept on at APR he would do fine at being the janitor and cleaning the toilets because most that comes out of his mouth is shit.
the only time I REALLY had a problem with Arin was when he was denying CountVohn’s involvement in tuning the APR1320 supercharger kit
with that being said, I understood why he did…he was following orders. My guess is that Steven Hooks saw the press release that said they brought in Count Vohn to re-tune it…and realised it made APR engineering look like pre-schoolers who didn’t know what they were doing…so he put out an all hands on deck “STOP FUCKING ADMITTING WE NEEDED HELP!” freak out. Arin followed it. The whole time I knew the truth so that kind of bugged me. Reality was everyone on earth seemed to know the truth too because it was in APR’s big press release, copied and saved by many people and seen by everyone else…so I don’t know why they bothered denying it. Made Arin and Steven (the only ones who went online and denied it) look bad.
Otherwise as I mentioned he has been pretty typical of an online forum poster…has crushed a few trolls in his day…and while this approach might offend some and maybe isn’t ideal for a company face, I don’t think it’s a big deal regarding his person. Seems like a pretty normal guy, and if he didn’t work at AR, he’d probably be a regular AR member.
p.s. if that troll account was him, that’s pretty funny. That post was fucking hilarious. Certainly not ideal for a company employee to do so behind a hidden account. 1fatZero lost all credibility doing that by posting under 1fat but accidentally using the RavenMS account on Audizine.
Here was a post on fb about the matter from the former APR CFO
[quote=Steve]As the ex cfo of APR and the CFO that brought the first investment firm into the group, I know the “truth” and what is not. I can say a few things without concern
The engineering group is a great group, the statement of you get what you pay for really holds here
This is not the first round and most likely not the last round of equity
It is NOT the norm for CEO’s or COO’s to be replaced or step down. I have done several deals before and after their first deal. Equity groups invest in management when they invest in small companies not the platform. I do not know what the story is here nor will I assume to know
I resigned was not fired or anything else and while hooks and I had our differences, he did make APR what it is and what it was.
I have never agreed with some of Arins post but he has generated results. People follow APR for what ever reason good or bad they read his post. I am sure Arin will state something about me and I don’t really care, but business post should not be vulgar or insulting.
I can call bulls##t on a lot of post here, seems This guy Mak had good resources and the guy on AudiRevolution had some interesting points, really enjoyed reading.
There are a few people that really had an impact what happened or happens at APR.
I find it interesting that the first investment group elected not to fund the second round. Equity norms are that equity groups usually do series a and b then exit. Not exit within 18 months
Take it for what it’s worth, I’m not alleging anything other than some things are not the norm. All this being said. Mangrove is an excellent management company as is Taglich and their current CFO is on the ball and APR can only go up

Everyone reads AR. Most are just terrified to join and post because it’s intimidating to come to a place with no moderation or protection, and where everyone’s pretty sharp a d in the loop, but they read.
