APR Presents the World Premiere of the Eaton TVS1740 Supercharger

Another TVS development news releases. Eaton has been busy, looks like a smaller blower;

""Toyota Motor Sales USA Ken Nunn, Technical Director for Magnuson Products along with Ted Moncure also added “Coupling the latest Eaton TVS rotor technology with a dual intercooler system significantly increases boost while keeping inlet air temperatures low, improving both power and efficiency throughout the rev range. We are all very excited to see this project develop and are eager to see the results of our efforts.”

KSR’s FR-S will feature the FA-20 boxer power plant paired with the newly developed TRD supercharger to boost horsepower to competitive levels for the Pirelli World Challenge GTS class. KSR with their TRD Supercharged Scion FR-S will compete against Chevrolet Camaros, Ford Mustangs, Acura TSXs and Porsche Cayman in the Pirelli World Challenge GTS class.""

I can’t release the maps and all of the information yet, but when I can, I’ll give you guys quite a bit of data to chew on for either believing me, or deriving the same answers on your own.

What I can say is that you are correct. The larger units do have a lot of HP loss just turning the blower and they also limit space for cooling. They also operate out of their efficiency range, where as the 1740’s right in the sweet spot. Lastly, you are correct, after making a few comments about the 1900 being too big, I was attacked on other forums for not knowing some guy was making a 1900 kit for a couple years now, which I guess a bunch of people are supporting and tuning or something (I don’t have all the details).

You can read the mess here:

wow I feel bad for you.

so someone who supposedly has a business (Snow Trooper) is complaining that you are in it for the money and that you are not in it for the cars? then what does he have a “business” for and why doesnt he just do it as a hobby rather than charging people to work on their cars?

shame on you Arin for trying to earn a living doing something you love.

poor arin had to post on quattrofail lol

I love when you acted like you had never heard of AMDyno and Aviva1manshow. That was awesome. They went fucking apeshit when you said you didn’t know of their 2 one man companies with zero products for any car but the 13 year old B5 (and even then they sell what…Tials?)

the poor guy probably cringes every time he has to. im sure he has a gun to his head to post in that dump since APR advertises on it.

Its not just the format that is shit, the people it attracts are the biggest donkies

i had to stop reading that thread about halfway through. there are only so many illogical, baseless statements that i can take.

+1 on the shitty format - it makes reading through long threads nearly impossible.

That thread was pretty funny. Big bad APR not knowing who their competitors are lol. My impression is that they just went on the attack (on Arin) without knowing really why. Because QW.

thats when you learn to troll ala my AZ responses ;D

He’s had it out for me for quite some time.

It started around 2007 before I worked for APR. At the time I had contacted APR about getting a K04 kit built for the GTI using the OEM S3 components. They agreed and began development of the kit on my vehicle. Some time after APR took my car for development Stasis posted a photo of a k04 kit using the same OEM components. At the time I had tons of posts about building a K04 kit out of OEM components, with part numbers, and made threads for other enthusiasts. Since the stasis photo was the only photo I could find with all of the parts laid out, I wrote part numbers on the photo, and I corrected the color balance. Snow Trooper took it personally and insisted I was somehow attempting to undermine Stasis by putting the part numbers on the photo, when in reality I was just an enthusiast and was sharing how to build a kit. At the time IIRC stasis sold the kit with their warranty, had no support for a HPFP, only had support for 91 octane and may have required an OEM cat, so it really wasn’t anything anyone on the forums was after.

At any rate, Snow Trooper took it personally and has continued to hold that against me, even after I let him know I had no interest in undermining the non competing, and uninteresting Stasis solution. Stasis then threatened a law suit unless I remove the images from the internet, so I ended up posting a transparent PNG of all the part numbers so people could lay it over top of the stasis photo in photoshop. Then I called them out for lying about their turbo being modified by MAHLE (it was an OEM part and MAHLE did nothing, other than having a name tied to their old, defunct SCCA club racing efforts which used an older 1.8T in the B7 A4 rather than the new 2.0T, lol).

He’s never gotten over it and continues to talk about me all the time on WayOT and QT. Honestly, if I held a grudge against everyone who has done something to bother me, I’d have a pretty miserable life.

Wayot…Where creepy middle aged b5 s4 men go to share child porn and complain privately about all the tuning conpanies who are kicking the shit out of their friends

im assuming he has/had some kind of relationship with Stasis?

well ofcourse they will talk on Wayot, thats the only place other than QW that still thinks they are relevant in the scene.

he used to work at Stasis. Not sure how his employment ended.

Due to conflicts of interest he’s not at liberty to post on audirevolution lolololol

Hahahah I read that bs too…maybe the conflict is not sucking on the balls of amd and mr super tial…I dont know its sad…snow used to he a strong memeber and well respected…not so much anyore after his flip out on here and then teaming up to troll a apr thread go8ng on and on about something that isnt even working or for sale after jist one guy had it on h8s csr…

Quattrofail for the fail of the failures…its super funny when you have desperate@anothermanipulateddyno sheet posting more in a apr thread then apr…then we are told johnathan c is the guy for better information. … arin wasnt that guy an Intern at apr before you guys let him go…

He interned at APR in the early 2000’s. it was well before my time.

was that when apr was a non profit organization looking out for the enthusiasts rather than the money hungry evil empire it has become now? lol

based on what i saw on facebook, an update is imminent. coincedental timing with the revo b8.5 tune? i think not ;D

what was on FB?

ya i don’t see it either. link?

my safari at the office is having java issues and wont give me the img link but this picture was posted up http://s911.photobucket.com/user/richib86/media/165428_691195307334_347158434_n_zps1b1f0ebc.jpg.html

Here’s the pic. It’s going to just be a teaser, since the 4.2 FSI is ahead of the 3.0T in the timeline APR laid out. We haven’t seen much from Arin of late on the RS5. They had a picture of the kit on an RS5 a few months ago. Back when they did the conference I believe it was on the RS5 and R8.
