He’s had it out for me for quite some time.
It started around 2007 before I worked for APR. At the time I had contacted APR about getting a K04 kit built for the GTI using the OEM S3 components. They agreed and began development of the kit on my vehicle. Some time after APR took my car for development Stasis posted a photo of a k04 kit using the same OEM components. At the time I had tons of posts about building a K04 kit out of OEM components, with part numbers, and made threads for other enthusiasts. Since the stasis photo was the only photo I could find with all of the parts laid out, I wrote part numbers on the photo, and I corrected the color balance. Snow Trooper took it personally and insisted I was somehow attempting to undermine Stasis by putting the part numbers on the photo, when in reality I was just an enthusiast and was sharing how to build a kit. At the time IIRC stasis sold the kit with their warranty, had no support for a HPFP, only had support for 91 octane and may have required an OEM cat, so it really wasn’t anything anyone on the forums was after.
At any rate, Snow Trooper took it personally and has continued to hold that against me, even after I let him know I had no interest in undermining the non competing, and uninteresting Stasis solution. Stasis then threatened a law suit unless I remove the images from the internet, so I ended up posting a transparent PNG of all the part numbers so people could lay it over top of the stasis photo in photoshop. Then I called them out for lying about their turbo being modified by MAHLE (it was an OEM part and MAHLE did nothing, other than having a name tied to their old, defunct SCCA club racing efforts which used an older 1.8T in the B7 A4 rather than the new 2.0T, lol).
He’s never gotten over it and continues to talk about me all the time on WayOT and QT. Honestly, if I held a grudge against everyone who has done something to bother me, I’d have a pretty miserable life.
