It’s still to early to say the advertised numbers were inflated. I really don’t think they were.
You shouldn’t bring up “I sure do hope his sweetheart deal was worth it” when I was offered the same deal from other companies. Whatever grudges you have with other companies, don’t transfer those to me please. I would never say something like that to anyone when the product they purchased is bringing up concerns.
You’ll find the person most impacted is the owner of the car. He’d have been told so many things how is he to know what he can and can’t say? You’ve got a batch of people all looking for whom who go point fingers at. This’ll be one more reason why you don’t do business with these types of people or shops.
Sadly these responses from the OP show someone trying to not be in denial. These things are inevitable when you’re in need of trying to keep on the good side of a company that seems to have sold you something they’ve never fully developed.
You’re right I’m being told things from people from all spectrums. I don’t know about tuning, what it takes to make power in an engine, nor how it works when it comes to adding forced induction to an NA motor. So I have to rely on having faith in people/companies that they are honest and will do the right thing. Right now I have faith in AMD that they’ll do the right thing after the conversations we’ve had.
It’s one thing if I was a beta tester and was told I would get X performance (after falling short) with no proof , then keep thinking I’m sure I’ll get there, I’m sure I’ll get there… that’s denial.
I believe I’ll replicate the 126.X mph times the other HP kit owner did… that’s not denial, that’s expecting to achieve what’s been achieved.
I understand this situation is frustrating but you’re somewhat in denial. You mentioned in this thread that you expected a 126mph trap. That didn’t happen or even come close to happen. You’ve got one shop saying everything is ok then saying it’s not then the one shop saying there’s an issue and the original shop that sold the kit saying there’s not. Apparently everything was fine with your car until you didn’t run the time you’d have expected. Now all of a sudden there’s a problem again.
These kinds of actions haven’t set off any alarm bells for you yet? I think what’s become clear here is that AMD lied to everyone and staged a car at the track to run inflated numbers. You’re trapped in the middle.
Just to recap also, you did say that you sent AMD logs from the night before and they said your car was running flawlessly. Not sure how they can even tell you it’s running flawlessly when you don’t even have a boost tap. Lol…
Secondly Saki is saying 4 cars based on the time slip. Every .1 in the 1/4 is 1 car length. From the slip the S4 is basically getting 1 car length in the first 60’ and another 2 cars in the remainder of the 1/4.
Third off my dad did the first pass in the car. It was an 11.66 that’s with no adapting to race gas, 260lb driver and full interior minus the spare also after a 2 hour drive.
The car weighed 3970 without a driver on Sunday. The wheels are 46lbs which I reckon are similar to the 19" HRE you are rocking. The seats you are lighter, the rotors I probably have a slight advantage but yours are lighter than stock too. The race tune is an OTS GIAC 104 file. My 6 speed S4 has gone 11s on pump and race as well…
The way your car is running right now, you aren’t doing any damage to my 6 speed or my pops DSG even on pump and a roll. Just to clarify.
If you would like to do some runs with my B8 6 speed I have no problem meeting up.
I did send logs the day before to make sure that I was ok for doing the 1/4 mile time. Not cool that you’re putting words in my mouth, I never said “they said my car is running FLAWLESSLY”. I told you they said my car was safe to run on the track (checked on timing, fuel trims etc etc). Of course without a boost reading they have no way of knowing if I’m not running the boost I’m supposed to be at.
Enough said though, you know more about 1/4 mile times, car lengths, weights, fuels and tunes than I do, so I wont argue with you. Your car is theoretically faster than mine.
I’ll believe Auditude3.0T before you as I’ll say once again. Just like when this happened with the PES kit your actions and responses are the same. Even got cough by Auditude3.0T that you left out part of the full story. Also your trying to tell us that you sent logs and no one said anything like you shouldn’t go the car isn’t right. You have a maf reading they made a big deal out of that on the other hp kit car when he only made just over 400whp.
I’m missing the part where anyone is looking out for you. Weeks later you still claim to have broken parts and a tune that still isn’t fixed. How long now has this hp kit been out. In the end all this is what you said you didn’t want and you didn’t want to happen but you keep trying to say it’s ok even tho you said it’s not ok.
I left that part out because I didn’t think it was relevant. They didn’t tell me… Dave, your car is FLAWLESS 100% you are going to run 126 mph trap like the other guy, go run the track! … no, they told me after reviewing my logs that my car was safe to run on the track (after my concerns for the solenoid etc) to see what my car is actually doing performance wise. That’s what I meant when I told auditude that on Sunday. If he understood that as me saying my car is “flawless”… well what can I do…
Auditude common man you have to back me up on that, you know I didn’t say that… that’s not right if you let it go like I did say that, I was being honest with you guys at the track and telling you things I didn’t have to tell you. That’s not right to now take it and twist it into something else.
They told you the car is running good and you can take it to the track? Yes.
You lost 3-4 cars to the S4? Yes
You will destroy a B8 S4 on pump on the street? I highly doubt it but there’s one way to find out.
Your car is obviously not running right but if your gonna come on here and try to downplay my time and make excuses for yours then I will call you out on your shit.
So you’re confirming I didn’t say my car was flawless, yes?
I wasn’t downplaying your time, I was answering to Sakimanos down playing of my time vs yours. Your time is what it is. I’m not arguing it. I was just pointing out that you did what you did in the setup that you had and that should be noticed by him, not simply state that in general B8 S4’s are faster than my car as is. None of that was directed towards you personally.
Now you’re telling me that the race tune isn’t that big of a deal, and the tires are cheap tires, and you were heavier than should be and still ran those times… well that’s freakin awesome dude! (no sarcasm) I sincerely didn’t know that. That means your car still has more potential and that’s nothing to sleep on.
Dave seemed like a real cool dude. All of a sudden my pops car is in full race mode and he’s gonna mop a B8 in steet trim. Lol
My dad drives his car to work everyday just how you saw it yesterday minus being on race gas. Not sure what’s so race trim about that.
The way your car sits, there’s obviously a problem. Your car is gorgeous and sounds great. I just can’t understand for the life of me why you chose AMD over JHM.
About my car losing 3-4 car lengths… well I didn’t know what that meant, I thought that was being assumed based on the video which clearly shows I wasn’t trying to race the S4.
But if by the time slips it translates to me losing 3-4 car lengths, that’s impressive, didn’t know that.
I used the word flawless because you told me your car was running good and ready to go to the track. I don’t know if you used that exact word or not but you did say that it was running good and felt great. Logs are logs. If there was something wrong they would have pointed it out to you? No? So in the opinion of AMD your car as of yesterday was running good.
I would hardly think that a car trapping 115 and 119 when it’s supposed to trap 126 is running “good”
Dude I’m sorry, seriously. I didn’t mean for it to come off like I’m down playing you or your fathers car directly. It was in response to Saki.
To me it looked like race trim… race trim to me meaning grippy thick sidewall tires and a tune designed to optimize race fuel. Or a setup you don’t normally see driven on the street. My fault on uneducated assumptions regarding the tires.
