[quote]Unfortunately no. :(. I really wanted to see some more variety…all the other bt guys either just didn’t show or were broke… [quote

They had like 20 cars there.
1 bigger turbo than K04
a bunch of K04 cars, mostly high school stage 3 (a.k.a. stage 3-)
a couple of K03 cars
Nobody went to the dragstrip (shocker)…and lots of talking about FATS times.
The most interesting news was that corbett bought an RS6. Now THAT is an interesting car. Hope he posts a little more info about it. I love the RS6.
If I would have been up in Maryland already, it might have been worth it to make a trip. Could have settled a lot of debate about how a nicely modded JHM B7 stacks up against all of the stages. My guess would have been that only 10% of them were running right anyways.
An RS6 sounds cool, I’ve went back and forth with the idea, but I would want to 6 spd swap it instantly and isn’t there a lack of aftermarket, which I don’t have the tools or connections for fabrication.
Well, it’s an RS so you know they did their homework from the factory. Aftermarket is nice, but not entirely necessary on a car that has 2 good sized turbos and a 4.2 V8.
Stock, they’re basically like a strong running B7 RS4. High 12s @ 108-109 MPH kinda thing. Maybe there are some quick ones, but I haven’t seen many quicker than 12.7 stock.
HOWEVER
with a tune, and piggies, you’re looking at an entirely different car. Now you’re seeing close to 500-550 crank hp, and are running as quickly as mid to high 11s at high teens MPH if you’re nicely tuned.
The best thing about the RS6 is its bulletproof engine. I knew a guy that had APR stage 2 with 200 shot of Nitrous on a stock motor and he would beat that thing up at the racetrack. He used to take it to the dragstrip all the time as well but I dont remember what he ran its been a very very long time.
Then he added a 200 shot…very possible I guess since Marc / 10secS4 did something similar, but I’ve never heard anything about that car, other than when he tried to race 91GL
dead serious bro this guy was straight balling he had a twin turbo Ford GT40 and a supercharged VIper. The RS6 was the families beater car. he was a 50 year old man and was not on the forums. I have no reason to make this shit up. There is a lot that happens out there that you will never hear about on the forums. Like my buddy with the Nitrous B8 S4. He doesnt post shit on the forums and if it wasnt for me no one would even know about his car. And even now people dont know much about it.
BTW after tracking that RS6 a few times that thing had so many issues he ended up taking the nitrous off hoping it would solve his issues but it didnt. He had to buy all new shocks which are stupid expensive, he had to change his rear diff. That thing always had oil and coolant leaks. But the engine and transmission were running strong till the day he sold it when his 17 year old son got tired of driving it. Only reason I even mentioned this car is so anyone looking to mod an RS6 knows how strong the engien is and the problems that might arise from beating one up.
I can totally believe it. Lots of older peole dont get on the froms. If ur over 45 and big into cars if you wernt on thd forums before they arent going to start… the older people also have the biggest chunks of disposable cash…when we see these random bu8lds thst are the tt s5 or something odd like that where its not talked abkut. Chances are its an oldr guy with momey
Ya I saw this guy after he sold his RS6 his son had just turned 18 and he was on his way to take his son to the “clinic” to get him a weed license for his birthday. This was just a rich old surfer pothead who loved cars.
Yah I bet they loved it. The rs6 looks a little like the b6 s4… I love the b7 s4 and w8th headers its a monster… I still agree the front timing belt makes the older 4.2 a little more loveable
I’m with you, even though I smoke when he told me that I was like wtf is wrong with this guy. Your son has all the money and fast cars he can want and your ok with him smoking weed. He’s gonna develop a coke problem or end up dead before he’s able to develop a coke problem.
